Job Description: Senior IT Architect – AML Function

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior IT Architect to support and enhance our Anti–Money Laundering (AML) capabilities within a complex, multinational environment. The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise, strong architectural leadership, and prior experience in financial services or insurance. This role will be responsible for defining target architectures, guiding solution design, and ensuring alignment with enterprise-wide architecture principles across cloud, data, security, and AI domains. Knowledge of IT compliance frameworks eg. DORA


Key Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain scalable, secure, and resilient architectures supporting AML systems and workflows.
  • Develop and evolve target architecture roadmaps in alignment with enterprise architecture frameworks and organizational objectives.
  • Partner with delivery teams, data teams, and business stakeholders to ensure solutions meet functional and non-functional requirements (including compliance).
  • Provide architectural oversight for cloud-native and hybrid applications deployed across AWS, Azure, and on-premises ecosystems.
  • Define and enforce architectural standards, integration patterns, and best practices across the technology landscape.
  • Ensure architectural alignment across domains including security, data, AI/ML, and applications.
  • Produce high-quality architectural documentation using industry-standard modeling tools.
  • Collaborate with engineering teams on software engineering practices, DevOps integration, and version control governance.
  • Guide implementation teams in containerization, orchestration, and model-serving technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
  • 5+ years of experience in architecture roles (enterprise or solution architecture), preferably within a multinational or matrixed organization.
  • Strong architectural background in the insurance or financial services industry (AML experience highly desirable).
  • Hands-on expertise with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure) and hybrid infrastructure models.
  • Strong understanding of security, data, and AI architecture domains.
  • Proficiency with architecture modeling tools, such as ADOIT and ArchiMate.
  • Solid knowledge of database management systems (e.g., PostgreSQL, SQL Managed Instance) and modern software engineering practices.
  • Experience with GitHub or similar version control systems.
  • Strong practical experience with containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience designing architectures for AML transaction monitoring, sanctions screening, or customer risk assessment systems.
  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and regulatory guidelines relevant to AML.
  • Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevSecOps practices.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable architecture specifications.
