The purpose of this role is to work within Data Governance, Management and Quality (DGMQ) Team to effectively drive the key data governance capabilities to our business customers: Business Glossary, Metadata, Reference Data, Lineage and Quality Management. You will be eager to become a data professional, have a technical mind and an appreciation for business, as well as an excellent communicator with strong stakeholder management skills in order to gain greater insight of their data requirements and effectively drive Allianz UK Data Strategy.
We’re looking for someone who is a great team player with an innovative mind to optimise Data Governance processes for the benefit of our internal customers. Knowledge of Data Governance compliance is valuable, as some of the role involves managing data risks and monitoring the organisation's progress in Data Maturity and Governance Frameworks. Salary Information
Salary circa - £42,500
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
Key Accountabilities
- Perform analysis and develop foundational data management products to deliver a comprehensive end to end business offering (Glossaries, Metadata Management, RDM, Data Quality, etc).
- Identify risks in projects due to Data Governance gaps and track these to full resolution or an interim mitigation.
- Collaborate with Data and Business colleagues to document the progress against the organisation’s Data Maturity framework.
- Support the definition and implementation of Business Glossaries so Allianz utilises one business vocabulary.
- Ensure the successful execution of Internal Audit actions by properly managing and recording data to comply with all Data Control requirements.
- Support adoption of Data Ownership framework and Data Asset Cataloguing in Allianz UK.
- Drive a better understanding of the value of data with stakeholders and users and contribute to improvements in data management, quality and governance.
- Support the delivery of our data management strategy enabling data products that will help hundreds of staff in supporting our customers and influence our business strategy.
- Build relationships and collaborate with stakeholders around the business in helping to create data driven solutions to business problems.
- Deliver hands on analysis of datasets through data profiling and cleansing tools.
- Trouble shooting hurdles limiting the business adoption of data processes and tools.
- Work autonomously and within a highly skilled agile team to deliver both business process and technology enabled business change.
Experience
- Have previous experience and be comfortable working with data in prior roles (e.g. data manipulation and analysis)
- Knowledgeable and experienced in more than one area of area of data governance/management (Metadata, MDM/RDM, Modelling, Data Risks, Business Analysis in a data space etc) with an enthusiasm to learn about others. Proficient in learning & configuring new application and confident in corresponding with technical depts or third parties for further support
- Comfortable with engaging with business leaders and operational staff on the subject of data ownership and stewardship to encourage their continuing data journey and build our data culture
- Be able to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences
- Understanding of how important KPIs are for monitoring business outputs and project implementations with some familiarity of BI software (i.e. Cognos, MicroStrategy, Power BI etc.)
- Prior use of the Informatica governance toolset (i.e. AXON & EDC) would be highly desirable although full training will be provided
- Experience with the use of IBM IIS (InfoSphere Information Toolset) including Data quality, RDM and MDM Modules would be highly desirable although full training will be provided
- Experience of evidencing data compliancy against internal or external regulations and delivering on any required mitigations.
- Experience of a programming language (SQL, Python, C, etc) and Azure or AWS cloud products would be beneficial.
- Experience working in an Agile project environment or managing large items of work– ideally in the context of data
- Keen to develop new skills.
- Great communication skills, team player, self-starter
- Organised, demonstrated strong work ethic, results driven and proven to hit deadlines.
- Ability to prioritise and work across multiple projects and stakeholders.
