Role Description

 

As a Direct Tax Accountant you will contribute towards delivering a high performing central tax function for the Allianz UK Group. This involves ensuring that all corporate tax matters are sufficiently maintained, fulfilling all tax reporting requirements of Allianz SE and assisting with tax advisory and specific projects as required.

 

Salary Information

 

Pay:  Circa £66k per year.

 

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

This is a hybrid role, based at our Guildford office.

 

About You 

 

  • Prepares, submits and obtains agreement (by HMRC) of all relevant corporate tax returns and payments required.
  • Maintains compliance records and documentation to ensure all required tax filings and payments are made by the statutory deadline.
  • Fulfils all tax reporting requirements of Allianz SE, including current and deferred tax calculations.
  • Maintains tax accounts and balances for the Allianz Insurance UK Group.
  • Provides support in respect of tax advisory matters or specific tax projects. 
  • Keeps up-to-date with tax technical matters and communicates relevant tax matters to the business as required. 
  • Builds and maintains relationships with internal stakeholders, advisors and tax authorities.

 

Essential Skills

 

  • Fully qualified ACCA/ACA/CTA
  • Proven experience of corporate tax compliance and tax reporting.
  • Experience of tax specialist software such as OneSource or Alphatax.
  • Experience of accounting systems such as SAP.
  • IT literate including excellent Word and Excel skills.
  • The ability to interpret and clearly explain tax technical issues and conduct and interpret research. 
  • Highly organised and the ability to prioritise multiple tasks.
  • Financial services experience would be advantageous, but not essential.
