Lead Business Analyst
Role Description
In line with our Global strategy and purpose, we have an exciting opportunity to join the UK Commercial Transformation Programme and the UK Commercial Business Analysis Practice as a Lead Business Analyst.
Our ambition is to transform the End-to-End experience and journey for our policyholders, intermediaries, internal users and other parties, through a combination of modernising core systems, data-led digital asset development and integrations (internal and external).
Working closely with key stakeholders across the business and IT, you will take responsibility for Business Analysis for the Pricing Services Tribe. You will work with and provide support and direction to a small team of Business Analysts to deliver integrations and pricing models, ensuring Radar-based solutions align to business outcomes.
This will be a hybrid role based in our Guildford office, with office attendance required twice a month.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £70,000 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- You will be leading the scoping of change initiatives required for the Pricing Services Tribe and ensuring oversight of and responsibility for the delivery of Business Analysis Services.
- Defining, implementing, owning and maintaining the Business Analysis approach, driving best practice and standardised procedures across multiple squads
- Providing direction, task management and technical support to other Business Analysts within your delivery area
- Providing expert advice and guidance to the Head of Product Management and others in the effective employment of Business Analysis Services
- Leading, planning and estimation of Business Analysis effort to achieve delivery objectives
- Working with stakeholders at all levels, including senior leaders within the organisation to elicit, define and manage often complex business requirements, ensuring clear end-to-end traceability and the identification and management of Project and Programme dependencies
- Ensuring requirements are fully understood and approved by stakeholders
- Mentoring and coaching Business Analysts within your own delivery and the wider Transformation Business Analysis function, providing a technical point of reference/expertise
- Providing assurance of the quality of your own work and of others
- Supporting and championing Agile working practices
- Learn from experiences and understand how benefits have been delivered by participating in retrospectives, lessons learned and knowledge share sessions.
Essential Skills
- Proven capability as an expert Business Analyst with a track record of delivering impactful outcomes
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence at a senior level
- Ability to demonstrate experience of task leadership and leading the work of others
- Able to demonstrate a good understanding of Agile ways of working
- An agile mindset, with a flexible and adaptable approach to delivering against business priorities.

Desirable Skills
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage.
- Experience working with mainstream Insurance Pricing Engines – Radar experience highly desirable
- BCS International Diploma in Business Analysis or equivalent
- Understanding of Allianz UK business areas and wider insurance industry trends
- Knowledge and experience of complex insurance system interfaces (e.g. Policy Admin, Claims Workflow, Quote/Pricing Engines)
- Experience working in a Financial Services environment, particularly General Insurance
Skills & Experience
- You are passionate about the BA role and have a track record working on large and / or complex change projects or programmes, utilising Agile and Hybrid methodologies.
- Experience engaging stakeholders to understand system functionalities and data strategy to ensure complex needs are captured and met.
- Workshop planning and facilitation skills to effectively elicit and capture complex domain and system knowledge from stakeholders.
- Experience of system-to-system integration.
- Possess a high degree of data literacy, with experience of data mapping
- Understanding of how schemas operate and enable system interaction.
- Familiar with and able to apply a range of data modelling and mapping techniques to guide stakeholder input to the process
- Solid experience creating Epics and User Stories using Confluence and Jira
- Great stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence at all levels and advocate for Pricing needs across multiple Business Lines and Tribes.
