Job Purpose

 

As our Operational Resilience Lead, you will design, set and assure adherence to our standards, controls, functional rules and regulatory requirements for Operational Resilience activity. You will drive cross-functional teams to ensure activities are conducted smoothly, effectively and allow us to demonstrate compliance with Group and regulatory requirements relating to Operational Resilience.  You will ensure our requirements for Operational Resilience are defined and conducted correctly, assessed for quality and appropriately stored for audit and compliance purposes.  You will work with leaders across the business, ensuring continuous improvement activities are concluded to further develop the operational resilience framework and operating model – within this team and across AZH.

The role supports robust governance, assurance, and a strong culture of risk awareness across the Operations and IT (OpsIT) environment.

 

Salary Information

 

Pay: Circa £55,000 - 62,000 per year.

 

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Ownership of UK Operational Resilience standard aligned to regulatory requirements ; maintaining on behalf of Chief Operating Officer in line with UK Regulatory requirements, applicable Group Standards,  and best practice 
  • To support and enhance the Operational Resilience function, advising on regulatory requirements and best practice, providing quality assurance and governance to ensure and report on compliance
  • Responsible for providing ongoing Operational Resilience operational support, guidance, and operational subject matter expertise to stakeholders, supporting implementation of key initiatives
  • Collaborate with relevant teams such as Business Continuity, IT Service Continuity Management, Compliance and Risk to integrate Operational Resilience considerations into the overall operational model.
  • Enhance the resilience culture across Allianz UK through initiatives to promote operational resilience and training sessions.
  • Ensure and lead the periodic processes for review and development of Important Business Services, Impact Tolerances, Mapping, controls and metrics, vulnerabilities, and the self-assessment. This also includes the Non-Financial Risk Management activity.

  • Leading on audit and compliance actions for Operational Resilience function.

 

Experience

 

  • Demonstrable experience of implementing improvements to raise maturity in an organisation’s operational resilience.
  • Considerable knowledge and experience in operational resilience management processes and best practice
  • Influencing across all levels
  • Demonstrable experience of governing and ensuring compliance to regulatory and other requirements
  • Working with financial services regulators and/or other relevant external stakeholders
  • Experience of working in a global organisation, balancing global and local requirements
  • Well versed in establishing internal and external relationships, ideally in a federated organization.
  • Responsible Artificial Intelligence use.

 

Skills

 

  • Ability to meet regulatory requirements for Operational Resilience
  • Familiarity with other relevant laws, regulations and industry standards
  • Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively across various department and levels of the organisation
