Product Owner - Mid Corporate Technical Delivery

Role Description
The Senior Product Owner role will be accountable for maximizing the data value, enabled by BMP deliveries, for the Commercial Technical teams – Pricing, Portfolio Steering, Customer Analytics, and Data Enrichment – aligned to the Mid-Corporate Property/Casualty line of business.
You will act as the voice of Technical stakeholders and end-customers, guiding Technical Initiatives (projects) and data delivery teams through the BMP life-cycle from concept to delivery.
Your role will involve evaluation of opportunities, setting the direction for Initiatives and the ‘Omega’ Mid-Corporate data delivery squad, and prioritizing development through a well-managed product backlog.
This role will be hybrid from our Guildford office.

About You
As the Product Owner, you will be responsible for:
Stakeholder Management:

- Collaborate with a diverse range of stakeholders, including Technical, Underwriting, Architecture, Data, Claims, Information Security, Data Protection, IT & Change, to gather input and feedback
- Represent the Mid-Market Portfolio Steering objectives and requirements within BMP Initiatives during the delivery life-cycle
- Perform role of Product Owner for the Mid-Corporate Omega data delivery squad - manage stakeholder understanding of product functionality and regularly demo progress
- Liaise between Mid-Corporate business, BMP Programme, and Data function stakeholders to ensure alignment and integration
Program Increment (PI) Planning and Backlog Maintenance:

- Maintain awareness of BMP and Technical portfolios to ensure Initiatives support business objectives and goals
- Prepare for Program Increment planning by inputting to roadmap, requirements definition and content presentations
- Actively engage in user story definition, providing clarifications to enable the Omega data delivery squad to create estimates and sequencing
- Define and prioritize work in team backlogs, ensuring visibility, clarity, and refinement ahead of sprint planning
Omega squad engagement:

- Influence the squad to engage with backlog refinement and user story writing
- Confirm the definition of "Done" aligns with expectations and ensure quality of deliver.
- Work closely with the Scrum Master to ensure the team is on track to deliver key dates
- Align with fellow Product Owners, Business Owners, and Programme Leads to ensure design, build, and test cycles are aligned
Decision Making and Escalation:

- Leads and Sign off on all development work as Initiatives move through the life-cycle
- Be available for day-to-day decision-making within the Omega data delivery squad, providing quick, concise decisions
- Escalate deviations/blockers/dependencies to ensure company visions are met
Specific Attributes:
- Support a proof-of-concept for the development of the Allianz Data Platform (ADP)
- Progress the business case for strategic Mid-Corporate data build for the Technical function
- Input to the development of an Allianz Commercial Enrichment strategy and roadmap
- Immerse in short-term Mid-Market Portfolio Steering data improvements, in order to carry learnings into future BMP developments
Essential Skills
We don't expect you to know everything from day one, but the following will enable you to hit the ground running:
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information simply and influence stakeholders
- Strong technical understanding of general insurance end-to-end processes and products
- Experience working with external parties as part of product roadmap delivery
- Exposure to databases/data warehousing, SQL, ETL patterns, and GDPR
- Leadership skills to motivate and inspire others, challenging the status quo when necessary.
- Self-motivated and driven to deliver, with a risk-based approach to decision-making.
- Basic understanding of Agile methodology, with experience using frameworks like Scrum and Kanban, and supporting tools such as JIRA and Confluence
Desirable Skills
- Business acumen and an understanding of the insurance or financial services environment.
- A high degree of data and numerical ability, with confidence working with internal and external data sources.
- Responsible Artificial Intelligence usage
