Role Description
Would you like the opportunity to gain exposure to different areas of the business and senior stakeholders?
This role will allow you to do just that , as a member of the Underwriting and Product Services team, you will be providing and supporting a comprehensive range of governance processes across Commercial lines collaborating with other business functions. Giving you the ability to learn and develop your knowledge of Underwriting Standards , Governance, Delegated Authorities, Facility and Inspection activity.
In joining this team, you will play a pivotal part in improving the oversight processes and control frameworks of our delegated authority arrangements and be involved in the Underwriting standards and control function.
You will also be providing assurances that the underwriting business operates effectively and in accordance with agreed rules and frameworks.
This would be suited to someone who is looking to build their internal network and foster collaboration across the various business functions, whilst keeping the customer at the heart of what we do.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £40,000 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
Key Accountabilities
- Oversee and maintain delegated authority agreements and facilities across all Lines of Business
- Lead the end-to-end process for onboarding, audits, annual reviews, and terminations
- Ensure governance controls are robust and aligned with underwriting strategy and regulatory expectations
- Maintain accurate records and generate meaningful MI reports for senior stakeholders
- Support governance forums and collaborate with Underwriting, Legal, Compliance, Risk, and Distribution teams
- Conduct audits, track findings, and ensure timely completion of follow-up actions
- Analyse conduct MI to identify trends and assess potential customer impact
- Contribute to change programmes and support project delivery across the business
- Explore and support the development of AI-driven tools to enhance governance, streamline processes, and future-proof underwriting controls
- Work as part of the wider Underwriting and Product Services team
About You
This role would suit someone who has a background in either underwriting, operations or insurance governance and who is looking for a role with a difference or you may be looking to develop your insurance career, full training and support will be provided
- An Understanding of Delegated Authorities would be beneficial but not essential
- Strong communication skills with the ability to influence and manage senior stakeholders
- High attention to detail and strong report writing capabilities
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Willingness to travel nationwide, including occasional overnight stays
- Full UK driving licence (Desirable due to travel)
