Role Description
As an Engineer Surveyor – Electrical / LEV with Allianz Engineering Inspection, you'll play a key role in helping our clients maintain safe, compliant, and efficient workplaces. You'll carry out expert inspections of electrical and LEV systems across a diverse range of industries, providing technical assurance and delivering a first-class customer experience.
- Carry out Periodic Inspection and Testing (EICR) on a wide range of industrial and commercial electrical installations, including offices, manufacturing facilities, processing plants, and quarries.
- Inspect and assess associated electrical equipment and apparatus, ensuring compliance, safety, and operational integrity.
- Undertake statutory examinations of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems, including fans, ductwork, extraction hoods, and filtration equipment used to control dust, fumes, vapours, and mists.
- Produce detailed electronic inspection reports, delivering clear recommendations and technical guidance to customers.
- Build trusted relationships with clients, acting as a professional ambassador for Allianz Engineering Inspection and supporting customers in managing risk and compliance.
Salary Information
Pay: Starting salary £45,539 per year. + Company car
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
- A strong and up-to-date understanding of the latest electrical and LEV regulations, standards, and compliance requirements, with the ability to apply this knowledge confidently in a customer-facing environment.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills, enabling you to effectively manage inspections, appointments, and customer commitments across short, medium, and long-term schedules.
- The flexibility and willingness to travel throughout your designated region, providing expert support to a diverse range of customers and industries.
- Strong administrative and IT skills, with the ability to accurately complete inspection documentation, reports, and compliance records using digital systems.
- A collaborative and supportive approach, working closely with fellow Engineer Surveyors and stepping in to provide cover when required to ensure exceptional service delivery.
- The ability to work independently while remaining an engaged and valued member of a high-performing nationwide engineering team.
Essential Skills
- NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering (or equivalent) and a BS7671:2018 (18th Edition)
- Proven hands-on experience in low-voltage electrical installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and fault-finding across commercial, industrial, or domestic environments. (Please note that electronics-only experience is not suitable for this position.)
- An awareness of Local Exhaust Ventilation (LEV) systems and a working understanding of COSHH Regulations and their importance in maintaining safe working environments.
- A full UK Driving Licence, with the ability to travel regularly throughout your designated region.
- Strong organisational and planning skills, enabling you to effectively manage your workload, prioritise inspections, and deliver against customer commitments.
- Excellent customer-facing, communication, and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to communicate technical information clearly, both verbally and in writing.
