About the role Join a dynamic, customer-focused team at Allianz. Reporting to the Senior Counsel in Hong Kong, you will partner closely with our Personal Lines and International Health businesses. This hands-on role spans legal advisory, compliance, and data protection—ideal for a proactive, commercially minded professional who wants to build a broad skill set while supporting critical initiatives.

What you’ll do:
Legal & Compliance
- Provide legal and regulatory advice to the business; ensure actions align with the Insurance Ordinance (and IA guidelines), Companies Ordinance, internal policies, and group standards
- Draft, review, and negotiate contracts; balance commercial needs with legal and compliance risk mitigation
- Monitor and assess legal/regulatory changes; identify risks, propose solutions, and support implementation
- Support and execute compliance program activities (monitoring, reporting, gap resolution between group policies and local rules)
- Manage and coordinate customer complaints and compliance incidents; conduct root-cause analysis and recommend control/process enhancements
- Prepare clear documentation and reports for stakeholders; track SLAs, remediation of audit/compliance findings, and maintain renewal/obligation calendars
- Contribute to governance, internal standards, policies, and deliver targeted training to promote a strong compliance culture
- Partner cross-functionally (e.g., Product, Sales, Operations, IT) to align on requirements, enable delivery, and escalate/resolve issues
Data Protection
- Operate privacy-by-design processes: privacy impact assessments, Records of Processing Activities, and customer-facing privacy notices
- Manage Data Subject Requests; assist with incident management (investigation, risk assessment, reporting)
- Support privacy QA and timely remediation of identified gaps or vulnerabilities
- Promote a strong data protection culture via policies, procedures, and training
What you’ll bring:
- Law degree from a recognized institution in a common law jurisdiction
- 3+ years’ relevant experience in insurance or financial services
- Working knowledge of Hong Kong regulations: Insurance Ordinance (and IA guidelines), Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance (PDPO), and Companies Ordinance
- Experience in compliance management (breaches, audits) and exposure to data protection/privacy frameworks (ideally in an international organization) welcome
- Strong written and verbal communication; able to engage and influence cross-functional stakeholders
- Fluent in English; professional proficiency in written Chinese is an advantage
- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.
