IFRS Lead

We are seeking a proactive and experienced actuary to lead IFRS 17 Actuarial Sharia reporting. This role will focus on delivering high quality BAU reports, business planning and driving process improvements and efficiencies. The ideal candidate will have a strong actuarial background, deep understanding of IFRS 17, and a passion for process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Reporting and Analysis: Drive the preparation of high quality actuarial reports and analyses under IFRS 17 on timely, providing insights and recommendations for process enhancements.
- Model Optimization: Refine and optimize actuarial models to improve accuracy, reliability, and performance in line with IFRS 17 requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement opportunities for enhancing actuarial models and processes related to IFRS 17 to improve efficiency.
- Collaboration: Work closely with colleagues from accounting, shared service colleagues to ensure numbers are explained properly and variances are being investigated.
- Technical Expertise: Provide expert guidance on actuarial methodologies and assumptions and continuously seek ways to address existing model limitations and simplifications.
- Training and Development: Support the development of actuarial team members by sharing knowledge and best practices related to IFRS 17 and process improvement.
- Compliance and Standards: Ensure all actuarial activities continue to comply with IFRS 17 standards and internal governance policies. Monitor industry trends and regulatory changes.
- Innovation: Foster a culture of innovation within the actuarial team, encouraging creative solutions to improve IFRS 17 processes and outcomes.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in actuarial science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field. Professional actuarial certification such as FSAI/FIAA/FIA is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 6-8 years of experience in actuarial roles, with a focus on IFRS 17 or similar financial reporting standards. Experience in process improvement is highly desirable.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in actuarial software and tools, with a strong understanding of IFRS 17 requirements and actuarial methodologies.
- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret complex data and develop actionable insights.
- Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
- Leadership: Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams, manage multiple priorities, and drive results in a dynamic environment.
- AI Skils: Have an experience doing data analysis with AI utilization
