Role Overview
Owns technical delivery and governance across multiple teams; drives architecture, performance engineering, secure SDLC, and release governance in regulated environments.
Experience
6+ years of experience with 3–5+ years in technical leadership/management.
Experience running programs in insurance/financial services preferred.
Responsibilities
- Define architectural guardrails across Java/Spring Boot, APIs, and database systems; enforce coding standards.
- Plan sprints and releases; manage dependencies and cross-team delivery.
- Govern secure SDLC, compliance, and audit readiness; ensure data protection.
- Drive performance engineering initiatives (profiling, capacity, cost optimization).
- Lead RCA for P1/P2 incidents; ensure preventive measures and observability maturity.
- Mentor engineers and leads; build learning paths; recruit and grow capabilities.
- Partner with product, architects, security, and operations for strategic outcomes.
Required Skills
- Strong hands-on background in Java/Spring Boot.
- Expertise in microservices architecture, API governance, and database design.
- DevOps, CI/CD, Docker; Kubernetes and cloud awareness; release governance.
- Security and regulatory compliance (OAuth2/OIDC, OWASP, data privacy).
- Good experience in using Github copilot, Claude code or other AI tools
Good-to-Have Skills
- Experience with Kafka, Camunda, and cloud platforms with AI tools exposure.
- Vendor and stakeholder management; contract/tooling oversight.
