The commercial claim specialist plays a pivotal role in managing and processing commercial claims which are related to workers and surety bonds. This position requires a professional with extensive expertise in the general insurance claim domain, possessing a keen eye for detail and the ability to analyze and investigate claims thoroughly.
Key Responsibilities

Claims assessment: Evaluate and process claims related to workers and surety bonds. Ensure timely and accurate claim settlements in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Investigation and Analysis: Conduct thorough investigations to verify the validity of claims. Analyze claim documentation, medical reports, and other relevant information to determine liability and coverage.

Documentation and reporting: Maintain accurate records, prepare comprehensive reports, and document all stages of the claims process, ensuring clarity, transparency, and compliance. Analyze claim data to identify trends and opportunities for improvement. Prepare reports and summaries for management review.

Customer experience: Deliver excellent service to claimants and distributors and ensure that customers have a positive claims experience.

Compliance and Regulations: Stay updated on local laws and regulations related to workers' compensation and surety bonds. Ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements in the claims process.

Communication and coordination: Collaborate effectively with internal teams such as operation, finance and sales; external stakeholders which include regulators, distributors, investigators, lawyers, and claimants to facilitate seamless claim processing and resolution.

Continuous improvement: Enhance claim handling procedures and contribute to the continuous improvement of claims management protocols by staying updated with industry trends, legal changes, and best practices.
Qualifications and skills

Bachelor’s degree in Insurance or a related field

A minimum of 5 years of experience in the general insurance commercial claim sector, with a dedicated focus of at least 3 years of experience in workers or surety bonds.

Understanding of Singapore regulations and relevant legal frameworks is preferred.

Certification in Basic Insurance Concepts and Principles (BCP), Personal General Insurance (PGI) and Commercial General Insurance (ComGl) with Singapore College of Insurance are mandatory.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills to interact with diverse stakeholders and convey complex information clearly and concisely.

Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in claim assessment, documentation and reporting.

Ability to adapt to changing environment, prioritize tasks efficiently, and handle a variety of tasks effectively.

Good knowledge of MS Office software and any other technology applications.
