You will be responsible for assessing and underwriting non-motor insurance risks, including property, liability, and specialty lines, within the retail sector. This role involves evaluating applications, determining coverage terms, and ensuring adherence to underwriting guidelines to achieve profitable growth.

 

You'll be responsible for:

  • Assess and evaluate non-motor insurance applications, ensuring compliance with underwriting guidelines and company policies.
  • Analyze risk factors and determine appropriate coverage terms, pricing, and conditions.
  • Collaborate with brokers, agents, and clients to gather necessary information for underwriting decisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders to facilitate effective communication and negotiation.
  • Monitor and review existing policies to ensure ongoing compliance and profitability.
  • Provide product training & technical underwriting expertise and guidance to junior underwriters and other team members.
  • Stay informed of industry trends, market conditions, and regulatory changes to ensure competitive and compliant underwriting practices.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of underwriting strategies to achieve business objectives.
  • Prepare and present reports on underwriting activities, performance, and market insights

 

Important to your success:

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Insurance, or related field preferred.
  • Proven experience in non-motor underwriting, preferably within the retail sector.
  • Strong data analytics skill and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proficiency in underwriting software & tool and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry best practices
