Job Purpose

As an Accountant, your primary responsibility will be managing day-to-day accounting, ensuring strict compliance with Malaysian statutory requirements (MFRS, tax laws, and Companies Act), and delivering timely financial insights to support local management.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Accounting & Operations

• Lead and oversee general ledger (GL) / Record-to-Report (RTR) activities, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, intercompany transactions, reconciliations, lease accounting, and inventory accounting.
• Drive closing activities in compliance with internal controls, accounting policies, Allianz Group guidelines, and Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards (MFRS).

2. Statutory Compliance & Tax Management

• Prepare and file corporate income tax returns, SST, and withholding tax submissions accurately and on time.
• Liaise closely with external auditors, tax agents, and local regulatory authorities (e.g., LHDN, CCM).
• Assist the Head of Finance in ensuring compliance with local corporate governance, statutory audits, relevant legislation, and both local and international accounting standards.

3. Financial Reporting & Analysis

• Review and analyze financial statements and management reports to ensure accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery.
• Assist in preparing report for local board meetings and regional stakeholders.
• Support cash flow management and local liquidity forecasting.

4. Business Partnering & Process Improvement

• Partner with cross-functional stakeholders, business teams, and external auditors to support audits, statutory reporting.
• Support finance operations across multiple markets in the region.

Candidate Requirements

• Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
• Professional Qualification: Partially or fully qualified in professional accounting bodies (e.g., MIA, ACCA, CPA, CIMA) is highly advantageous.
• Experience: 3 to 5 years of progressive experience in corporate accounting, financial audit, or a shared services environment. Experience in the technology, IT, or insurance sector is a plus.
• Technical Skills:
• Proficiency in SAP (FI modules).
• Strong mastery of Microsoft Excel (VLOOKUPs, Pivot Tables, financial modeling).
• Working proficiency with AI productivity tools such as Microsoft Copilot and Claude, applied responsibly to accelerate analysis, reporting, and documentation.
• Soft Skills: Exceptional attention to detail, strong analytical capabilities, and fluent English and Mandarin communication skills to engage effectively with stakeholders across regional markets.
