Manager, Financial Lines Underwriter

We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Financial Lines Specialist Underwriter to join our team. This role requires an individual with a 5 year foundational understanding of Liability insurance products and a strong desire to deepen their expertise in financial lines. The ideal candidate will possess strong business acumen, interpersonal skills, and analytical capabilities to effectively support and optimize business development and underwriting placements.

You'll be responsible for:

• Underwriting new and renewal of Financial Lines classes within guidelines and country mandate
• Develop new business opportunity and account targeting with accountability for profitable growth
• Portfolio review and analysis when required by product
• Provide technical assistance to branches, agents and team members  
• Dealing and negotiating with reinsurers to ensure the best terms offered to clients
• To conduct Financial Lines’ products training to branches, agents and clients as and when required
• Maintain good relationship with producers
• Review and update Liability policy wording, clauses and endorsement as and when required
• Analyze Financial Lines portfolio and develop plan and strategy to steer growth
• Any other matters that arise from time to time

Important to your success:

• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline
• Minimum 5 years of experience in Liability and/ or Financial Lines product underwriting.
• Self-motivated and proactive with a strong drive for success.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational skills.
• Adaptable and open to change in a dynamic work environment.
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data.
• Familiarity with AI tools like ChatGPT or Copilot is an added advantage.
