Position Summary

 

Project Portfolio Management Manager ensures that Request Management, Project/ Program/ Portfolio Management, Resource Management, and Time Booking processes are standardized and harmonized into one consistent flow and tool landscape, in order to effectively fulfill customer and internal requests.

 

 

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Single point of contact for the management of PPM utility in the APAC region.
  • This role will front the onboarding of APAC resources & projects into PPM, participate in analysing APAC IT portfolios and project status, review resource utilization, improving quality, and help to reduce project-related risk. 
  • Work with Head of IT, Finance and Business OE to ensure timecard are billed on timely manner every month
  • Key Activity for 2026 is to align PPM activities with New Ways of Working (WoW) – Portfolio Creation, Migration to Boost, and Maintenance and Reporting in Boost
  • Manages the resource and project onboarding within PPM. These warrants obtaining the resources and project details in a structured way, capturing the same within PPM promptly, and coordinating with PPM support teams to resolve issues if any.
  • This role would also be responsible for PPM operations covering the following:
    • Downstream data integration to SAP finance systems.
    • Timely generation of APAC portfolio status, resource utilization, and reports in support of governance meetings.
    • Identify and develop dashboards and reports for the ease of operations, and will own continuous improvement plans for the PPM system. 
    • Support portfolio governance covering monthly, quarterly, and annual reviews. This should include project status, benefits, and financials.
    • As part of the PMO team, moderate delivery related risk. Track, analyse, and forecast FTE and consultant spend and trends.
  • Manage the standardization of PPM tools and processes in alignment with Allianz standards.
  • Cover Service Portfolio Management and ensure have good understanding in ITSM (IT service Management)

 

 

Key Requirements

 

  • Degree in information technology or other comparable technical qualification
  • 7 years of prior experience in managing PPM in a complex multinational environment and program/project management experience are required. . The candidate should have good exposure to PPM modules and its associated operational needs.   
  • Good understanding in ITIL framework
  • Able to work with senior stakeholder such as CEO, COO, Global Capability Leaders
  • Strong experience in managing project financials, demand management, changes management, managing distributed teams, KPI tracking, and reporting alignment within a complex matrix organization would be advantageous. 
  • Candidate should have strong exposure to MS excel based data analysis, presentation using MS PowerPoint, and usage of project management tools.
  • Has a strong exposure to the functioning of the program management office, standardization of processes, tools, and associated governance.
  • Goal-oriented self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experienced in managing multi-cultural and geographical dispersed teams through both direct and influence management.
  • Customer-centric mindset; Transparent & fact-based collaboration.
  • Candidate should have demonstratable experience using AGILE, DevOps, and Waterfall based development methods.

 

 

Nice to have skill set

 

  • 10 years of PMO experience supporting an insurance IT function or a Shared services / Service Provider organization would be preferred.
