Role Purpose:
The Regional Scrum Master Lead drives Agile transformation across multiple countries, empowering Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile squads to deliver value, improve efficiency, and align with Allianz Technology’s strategic goals. The role fosters a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and business agility while ensuring Agile practices deliver measurable outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
1. People Leadership & Agile Coaching:
- Coach and mentor Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and Agile squads to adopt Agile values, principles, and practices.
- Pair Scrum Masters with teams based on competencies and team needs for maximum impact.
- Enable teams to identify and resolve impediments, achieve Sprint goals, and take ownership of end-to-end delivery.
- Foster skill growth, mindset development, and cross-team learning across all Agile roles.
2. Driving Team Performance and Efficiency:
- Monitor team performance and coach squads to improve effectiveness and efficiency.
- Facilitate retrospectives and implement actionable insights for continuous improvement.
- Use metrics (e.g., velocity, cycle time) to identify inefficiencies and recommend improvements.
3. Collaborating with Product Owners:
- Coach Product Owners on backlog prioritization and roadmap alignment to maximize value delivery.
- Act as a bridge between Agile teams and business stakeholders to improve communication and collaboration.
4. Organizational Collaboration & Strategic Alignment:
- Align Agile execution with business goals by collaborating with key stakeholdres in country and regionally.
- Serve as a connector between business priorities, operational challenges, and Agile delivery.
5. Agile Culture Building & Development:
- Promote a culture of transparency, innovation, and continuous learning across teams and the organization.
- Empower Communities of Practice (CoP) to foster shared learning and consistency in Agile practices.
- Create a safe environment for teams to experiment and innovate without fear of failure.
6. Agile Practice Stewardship:
- Ensure consistent yet adaptive implementation of Agile frameworks across the region.
- Identify systemic challenges and provide strategic recommendations to improve agility.
- Act as a trusted advisor to stakeholders on how Agile delivers measurable business outcomes.
7. Facilitating Agile Events and Training Needs:
- Facilitate Agile ceremonies (e.g., Sprint Planning, Retrospectives) and workshops as needed.
- Identify and coordinate Agile training needs with Chapter Leads to enhance team capabilities.
Key Capabilities:
- Strong coaching and mentoring skills across multiple Agile roles and teams.
- Business insight and evidence-based decision-making.
- Excellent cross-functional communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to influence culture and drive organizational change.
- Proficiency in Agile tools like Jira, Confluence, and ServiceNow.
Success Indicators:
- Scrum Masters grow in maturity, capability, and autonomy.
- Agile teams deliver consistent, transparent, and collaborative outcomes.
- Improved alignment between Agile teams, PMO, and business stakeholders.
- Communities of Practice actively contribute to Agile maturity and skill building.
- Agile practices deliver measurable, business-driven results.
Key Requirements:
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, IT, or a related field.
- Certified Scrum Master (CSM), SAFe Scrum Master (SSM), or similar certification.
- Advanced certifications (e.g., SAFe Program Consultant, CSP, or Agile Coach) are a plus.
- Experience in the insurance industry with knowledge of insurance products and processes.
- Proven experience as a Scrum Master or Agile Coach, with leadership experience across multiple teams or countries.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong coaching, mentoring, and facilitation skills.
- Deep understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, SAFe, Kanban, etc.).
- Ability to analyze team performance metrics and identify opportunities to improve efficiency.
