Job Summary
- To access and underwrite non-motor and motor risk in accordance to branch mandate and authority limit.
- To manage the department efficiency in complying with the Company benchmark and standard.
Job Responsibilities
- To take charge of all motor and non-motor underwriting matters.
- To assist in GWP non-motor growth (Commercial & P-Lines) and motor profitable growth.
- To review renewal notices and determine the appropriate renewal terms and conditions.
- To assist processing hub on enquiries and giving guidance on underwriting/issuance of policy/endorsement.
- To underwrite and assess the submission of proposal for insurance in accordance to the Company guidelines and its inherited exposure.
- To determine and discuss with intermediaries on the appropriate terms and conditions applicable to risk acceptance.
- To review the quotation prepared by Marketing Department before the quotation is released to intermediaries or insured.
- To provide guidance to clients, agents and marketers on underwriting related matter via verbal and written communication.
- To liaise with Head Office on risk acceptance for risk above branch underwriting authority mandate.
- To ensure policy and endorsement issuance in accordance to company turnaround benchmarks.
- To ensure minimum 99% policy processing hub documents submission in OPUS scrutiny.
- To ensure underwriting documents are properly scanned into filenet.
- To involve in Business Development and assist BDM to secure new and renewal business.
- To prepare non-motor quotation slips for those risks above BDM’s UW acceptance mandate.
- To oversee underwriting department and ensure smooth progress.
- Any other duties as and when deemed necessary.
Requirements
- Candidate possess a Diploma/Degree
- Meticulous and good analytical skills
- Good time management skill
- Familiar with the use of ChatGPT
