Role overview
The Controlling Expert is responsible for all financials in his/her respective area and their accuracy, including costs, revenues, and operating profits. He/she plans, reports, forecasts, analyzes and challenges financial KPIs and their main drivers in close collaboration with the business owners, and coordinates improvement measures. The Controlling Expert acts as a finance business partner and supports the management in all financial decision topics.
What you do:
- Ensure completeness and accuracy of all financials, including costs, revenues, and operating profits for the area of responsibility.
- Monitor financial performance against plan and forecast, analyze deviations, and recommend corrective actions to ensure target achievement.
- Create and provide comprehensive financial analyses, reports and dashboards for internal stakeholders on ad-hoc, monthly, quarterly, and yearly basis.
- Oversee monthly billing, revenue accrual, and cost provision processes ensuring financial transparency and compliance with IFRS and relevant accounting principles, and Allianz's internal policies.
- Develop recommendations for financial targets within strategic and operational planning and forecasting processes, considering long-, mid-, and short-term perspectives.
- Collaborate closely with central and local team members and business representatives to drive best practice sharing and standardize guidelines, processes, and systems for efficiency in controlling topics.
What you bring:
- Proven working experience in Finance, Controlling, and/or Accounting – ideally as a Business Controller, with a minimum of 3 years of experience.
- Deep understanding of financial planning, analysis, and performance monitoring.
- Ability to develop and enhance financial guidelines, processes, and systems.
- Proficiency in financial software and tools.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
- Fluent in English; fluency in German or other local languages is highly desirable.
