Data Protection Officer

We are looking for you! We are currently seeking a Data Privacy Officer to lead our organization-wide privacy strategy, ensure regulatory compliance, and strengthen governance frameworks at Allianz's exciting new project in Portugal.
Key responsibilities
• Develop and implement data privacy frameworks aligned with global regulations and business objectives
• Provide strategic privacy guidance to leadership on integrating privacy into business operations and governance
• Establish and maintain records of processing activities to ensure comprehensive documentation of all data handling
• Conduct privacy risk assessments and impact analyses for processes, systems, and services
• Review and negotiate privacy clauses in supplier and customer contracts to ensure compliance
• Lead data breach response and notification processes including remediation and regulatory reporting
• Oversee data subject rights fulfillment including access requests, deletion requests, and consent management
• Design and deliver privacy training and awareness programs to foster a privacy-conscious culture
• Implement and manage privacy controls as part of the organization's risk management framework
• Monitor regulatory developments and update privacy practices to maintain compliance
• Serve as primary point of contact for privacy matters with regulators, business partners, and internal stakeholders
• Provide guidance on privacy aspects of AI governance and emerging technologie
Key requirements:
• Degree in Law, Computer Science, Information Security, or related field
• Experience in data privacy, data protection, or compliance roles
• Experience working with international organizations or multinational companies
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing data protection management systems
• Demonstrable knowledge of GDPR and other relevant privacy regulations
• Strong background in data privacy compliance programs, including risk assessments and remediation
• Understanding of AI governance frameworks and privacy considerations for emerging technologies
• Experience with privacy impact assessments and privacy-by-design methodologies
• Experience developing and implementing privacy policies, procedures, and controls
• Strong project management skills for coordinating cross-departmental privacy initiatives
• Excellent communication skills for effective training, awareness, and stakeholder management
• Background in technology, legal operations, or risk management
• Previous experience with AI governance or emerging technology privacy issues (desirable)
