This role exists to make sure that the accounting data, closings and reports for selected European Allianz entities are accurate, consistent and compliant. You’ll sit in the Middle Office Accounting & Reporting team in Lisbon, working as a subject matter expert across accounting calculations, closing review, regulatory reporting and our core accounting systems.

 

It’s a good fit if you’re an experienced accountant who enjoys the “engine room” of finance: closing the books, checking data quality according to IFRS norms, resolving issues, and improving processes and systems. You’re comfortable working in SAP, handling detailed checks and working under established deadlines, be able explaining complex accounting topics clearly to both finance and IT colleagues in an international environment. 

 

Key Responsibilities:  
 
• Run or review key accounting calculations (bad debt , technical provisions, accruals, fixed assets. ensuring accuracy and consistency across the entities in scope.
• Review and validate month end and quarter end closings in SAP/ECCS: Perform checks on suspense accounts, revenues/premiums, commissions, payroll, investments, FX and tax items, and support consolidation uploads and controls
.
• Support statutory and regulatory reporting for assigned entities, ensuring that internal and external reporting requirements are met in line with Group policies.

• Administer and support accounting systems: manage and support configuration of Feeder systems and interfaces, coordinate incident resolution with IT and other stakeholders.

• Communicate clearly with Finance Services, Reporting, Performance Monitoring and IT teams, contributing to closing & audit reviews, issue follow up, and best practice sharing across entities.

• Support finance transformation and harmonisation initiatives, including system rollouts, new tools, process improvements and strengthening of the risk and control framework

• Work effectively in Matrix / International environment.

 

Key Requirements
 
• 4–5+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally in insurance, financial services, Big4 or a multinational group reporting environment — you understand end to end accounting and reporting and can handle complex closing 
• Strong technical accounting skills and familiarity with Accounting &Reporting processes (provisions, accruals, fixed assets, revenue, commissions, intercompany, tax, BCF, FX, invoicing) — you can spot and resolve data quality issues and ensure compliance with group policies.

• Few years of experience with SAP FI/CO and consolidation tools.

• Experience with IT related finance tools (e.g. Blackline) and strong Excel/analytical skills — you can work with large data sets and translate findings into concrete actions.

• Proven ability to work under strict closing deadlines in a KPI driven environment — you are resilient, organised and able to prioritise during peak periods.
 
• Strong communication and coordination skills in English, with the ability to work effectively in virtual, cross border teams; additional European languages besides Greek are an advantage.

Proven experience in end to end accounting and reporting and can handle complex closings on experience with SAP FI/CO and preferably GRP or similar consolidation tools — you’re comfortable navigating systems, running checks and supporting configuration with IT related finance tools.

•Strong Excel/analytical skills - Ability to work with large data sets and translate findings into concrete actions driven environmen resilience, proactivity, self-organisation skills and you are able to prioritise/during peak periods while cooperating with on short & offshore teams.
