Role overview

The Local Compliance Officer (LCO) serves as the Compliance Expert for Allianz Services Portugal and Spain, responsible for 2nd Line of Defense oversight and for developing and maintaining an efficient Compliance Management System aligned with Group/Central requirements. The role reports functionally to the Regional Manager / Chief Compliance Officer for Compliance across Allianz Services.

 

What you do:

  • Monitor and maintain the Compliance Program and Compliance Culture.
  • Promote awareness of the Allianz Code of Conduct, values, and ethics.
  • Advise local Management and Central Compliance on compliance risks and local regulatory impacts.
  • Maintain 2nd Line of Defense oversight; support Policy and Standards development.
  • Execute strategies to ensure an effective Compliance Management System (CMS).
  • Report, escalate, and document breaches of internal rules and external regulations.
  • Oversee compliance tools, regulatory change monitoring, and Legal Change Monitoring systems.
  • Manage compliance incidents and whistleblowing investigations in coordination with Central Investigators.
  • Conduct and coordinate Compliance Risk assessments, control documentation, and testing.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally across local, regional, and global Compliance and business teams.
  • Represent Compliance in governance meetings and internal committees.
  • Manage external consultants on compliance-related matters as needed.


What you bring:

  • Law degree from a top-tier institution, or 5+ years in a similar Compliance role
  • Minimum 7 years' experience in Financial Services, Insurance, Technology, or IT-Enabled Services (preferred)
  • Strong knowledge of Ethics Management, Anti-Corruption, Anti-Fraud, Sanctions, Legal Change Monitoring, and internal investigations
  • Excellent English (written & verbal); local language proficiency required
  • Understanding of the local legal system is an advantage
  • Willingness to travel; global team experience is a plus
