We are looking for a Business Manager to join our London office. This is a unique opportunity to work closely with senior executives, influence key decisions, and contribute to the success of our regional and global objectives.
Your Team
As the Business Manager, you will work closely with the Regional President and the Executive Management Team (EMT), acting as a trusted advisor and strategic partner. You will collaborate with senior leaders across various functions and countries, ensuring alignment and fostering a cohesive approach to achieving regional and global objectives. This role requires you to operate at the heart of the organization, enabling faster, higher-quality decision-making and driving the success of Allianz Commercial's strategy in the region.
The Impact You Will Have
In this role, you will play a pivotal part in shaping and executing the regional strategy. By acting as a bridge between the Regional President, executive teams, and stakeholders, you will ensure that strategic priorities are translated into actionable plans. Your ability to lead projects, manage budgets, and foster collaboration will directly contribute to the success of Allianz Commercial in the region. You will also drive innovation, improve processes, and enable the organization to adapt to a rapidly changing business environment.
Some of your specific responsibilities could include
Strategic Partnership and Advisory
- Acting as a trusted advisor to the Regional President, providing strategic counsel and identifying issues impacting commitments.
- Serving as a core member of the EMT, steering peers and operating across functions.
- Translating functional priorities into local implementation and fostering communication between executive teams and stakeholders.
Strategy and Change Management
- Defining, supporting, and executing the business strategy for the region.
- Preparing and coordinating strategic priorities and frameworks for discussions.
- Driving the delivery of the Allianz Commercial model and managing regional input to the steering cycle (e.g., SD, PD).
Project Management and Leadership
- Leading strategic projects, ensuring alignment among stakeholders and driving successful outcomes.
- Coordinating business-wide procedures to improve processes and managing the regional QBR process.
Communication and Coordination
- Fostering timely and relevant communication across departments and stakeholders.
- Delivering analysis and consultancy to improve business operations and ensuring consistency in strategic coordination.
Budget Management
- Overseeing budget responsibilities, ensuring effective allocation and management of financial resources.
- Collaborating with relevant departments to align budget planning with strategic objectives.
What You'll Bring to the Role
- Advanced understanding of insurer operating models and the wider insurance industry context.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to solve complex problems creatively.
- Demonstrated success in managing projects involving diverse stakeholders in a complex environment.
- Experience working in a global matrix organization, aligning stakeholders and functions.
- Strong strategic and financial analysis capabilities.
- Intermediate understanding of corporate underwriting and trading principles (3–5 years of experience).
- Minimum 5–7 years of experience in strategy development, project management, and driving change in a global organization.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills to foster collaboration across diverse teams.
- Results-oriented mindset with a focus on delivering high-quality outcomes.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
