Role Description
We have an exciting opportunity for an Enterprise Risk Business Manager to provide strategic executive support to the Chief Risk Officer (CRO).
You will help drive the enterprise risk agenda across Allianz UK, while also acting as a trusted business manager to the CRO.
You will support the CRO in delivering strategic initiatives, coordinate Management and Board Risk Committees, preparing high-quality executive communications, ensuring alignment of risk priorities with broader business objectives and act as a key communication link with stakeholders both within the UK and across the wider Allianz Group.
This is a hybrid role based in our London office, with the expectation to be on-site at least 50% per week.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £80,000 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
Enterprise Risk Management
- Support the development, enhancement, and embedding of the Risk Management Framework.
- Apply risk management knowledge to deliver effective and timely risk management support, constructive challenge, and insightful opinions to the Risk Function’s strategies.
- Coordination of the Executive Management and Board Risk Committees, including agenda preparations, drafting of papers and ensuring clear expectations on papers are set for other teams.
- Support the drive for continuous improvement in Second Line Risk Function operations and processes, leveraging leading technology tools where required.
Strategic Executive Support
- Independently support the CRO in driving strategic priorities, tracking progress and outcomes.
- Lead or coordinate cross-functional strategic projects and initiatives on behalf of the CRO.
- Prepare high-quality internal and external presentations, Executive Management and Board Risk Committee papers, and reports.
- Analyse key data and information to create timely Board Risk Committee and Group reports.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
- Act as a key liaison between the CRO and internal/external stakeholders, ensuring consistent and aligned messaging.
- Work with the relevant teams to prepare speeches, presentations, briefings and talking points for the CRO.
- Represent the CRO in meetings as needed, ensuring continuity and clarity of communication.
- Assist the CRO to identify priorities to strategically align time and monitor regularly to assess progress.
- Act as a first point of contact to help make the best of the CRO’s time, disseminate information and communicate ideas on behalf of the CRO.
- Carry out research and analysis, drawing and presenting conclusions.
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all dealings.
Essential Skills
- Proven track record of demonstrating effective planning, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Capable of project managing, with ability to multi task, balance a varied workload and prioritise effectively to meet tight deadlines.
- Experience of overseeing implementation, monitoring and continuous improvement of control process in a regulatory environment.
- Ability to assimilate corporate and regulatory requirements.
- Excellent interpersonal and stakeholder management, organisational, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Has commercial awareness and knowledge of the UK Insurance Market.
- Strong report and presentation drafting skills.
- Excellent Microsoft Office skills, particularly PowerPoint and Excel.
- Professional qualification relating to insurance risk management would be beneficial.
