Role Description
This is an exciting time to join a high-performing Internal Audit team that is part of a Global audit community. As we continue to evolve our team, we are looking for an individual who can deliver high-quality assurance work and support the continued enhancement of Internal Audit. You will collaborate with colleagues on internal audit engagements and provide support to activities that keep the Internal Audit function running efficiently and effectively.
This role is well suited to individuals who are inquisitive and energetic. Success in the role is driven by the individual’s ability to actively engage with colleagues and business stakeholders to perform risk-based audits that impact the business and support a culture of real-time coaching and collaboration amongst the team.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £55,000 to £60,000 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
The Internal Auditor provides independent and objective assurance that adds value and improves the organisation’s control environment. The role supports the achievement of business objectives by evaluating and reporting on the effectiveness of governance, risk management, and internal control processes in line with Internal Audit methodology and professional standards.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Performing audit planning, delivering audit fieldwork, which may include use of data analytics, contributing to the drafting and finalising audit outcomes and reports, and following up on recommendations.
- Working with your audit team to agree objectives and timelines for each audit and regularly monitoring progress.
- Preparing audit files, supporting working papers and draft and final reports within agreed timescales and quality standards with Internal Audit Management.
- Working with your audit team to deliver and communicate audit results and develop practical recommendations that address root causes and mitigate risks.
- Contributing to the development, innovation and growth of our internal audit strategy and support on functional development activities.
Essential Skills
- Relevant experience in internal audit, 2nd line assurance or general insurance business operations, including working knowledge of data analytics and awareness of existing and emerging insurance risks and regulations.
- Able to work independently and as part of a team to deliver audits and non-audit activities within agreed timelines.
- Progress toward, or completion of, a professional qualification in internal audit, accountancy or another relevant discipline.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at different levels.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word, with a working knowledge or awareness of data analytics techniques.
Desirable Skills
- Any experience in the following areas would also be welcome but is not essential to apply: Finance/Accounting, Conduct Risk/ Regulatory Environment, Commercial Insurance or Change/Programme Assurance.
