Allianz has a great opportunity for a Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter to join our team in London.
You will play a pivotal role within our Motor Fleet Underwriting team, driving profitable growth while building strong broker relationships and shaping our portfolio. This is an excellent opportunity to develop your underwriting expertise in a collaborative, high-performing environment.
You’ll take part in our Fleet Authority Accreditation programme, sharpening your skills in underwriting, risk engineering, pricing, and claims management. You’ll also connect with experts across the Allianz Group to exchange best practices and broaden your global perspective.
Location: This role is be based in our London office, please note that this is a hybrid working role with the expectation that you will attend the office 2-3 days per week.
Salary Information
Pay: Circa £80,000 per year.
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
About You
As our Senior Motor Fleet Underwriter, you’ll:
- Underwrite motor fleet risks across new and existing business to meet growth and profitability targets
- Assess and price risk in line with Allianz appetite and underwriting strategy
- Build and maintain strong broker and client relationships through regular engagement
- Negotiate terms, conditions, and pricing with brokers to secure sustainable business
- Proactively identify and develop new business opportunities within the market
- Contribute to regional underwriting strategy and key business initiatives
- Assess non-conventional and multinational fleet risks
- Providing support and guidance to colleagues on lower license levels, signing off referrals and working on quality assurance
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders including Claims, Operations, and Risk teams
- Represent Allianz positively in the market, attending broker and client meetings
Essential skills
- Extensive experience in motor fleet underwriting
- Strong ability to underwrite new and existing business effectively
- Confident communicator, comfortable engaging with brokers and negotiating outcomes
- Analytical mindset with the ability to assess complex risks and market conditions
- Commercial awareness with a focus on profitable growth and retention
- Self-motivated team player with the ability to support and mentor others
