Role Description
Allianz has recently launched Allianz UK Distribution limited to distribute non-underwritten products using the Allianz brand. This has created the opportunity for a Trading Lead to join the retail team.
The Trading Lead will report into the Retail Commercial Director and will be responsible for helping deliver the trading result of all AUDL products, identify and delivery new revenue opportunities through new products and help us achieve sustainable growth.
Salary Information
Circa £88,000
Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.
Location: This is a hybrid role, based at either London or Leeds.
About You
- Accountable for helping drive the trading result of AUDL, managing key P&L metrics such as commission ratio, revenue, cross sell and customer metrics
- Work with the Retail Commercial Director and wider trading teams to drive profitable growth initiatives, proactively reporting and identifying risks to delivering on key profit metrics
- Responsible for understanding and reporting the trading results, attending the main Retail business trading forums and cascading down and up the key trading decisions which directly impact AUDL, identifying actions as appropriate to maximise the trading results and achieve P&L plans
- Work closely with other areas of the business such as the Retail Trading, Pricing and Underwriting and Customer Operations teams to deliver key metrics
- Work closely with the business partner Finance manager to manage partnerships P&L performance
- Continual improvement of the customer experience to drive improvements and reduce costs, delivering on the wider Retail business objectives but specific to partnerships
- Lead the on-boarding of new AUDL products and drive activity that maximises results for both Allianz and our providing partners
- Build strong relationships with Internal and External delivery partners
- Explain AUDL trading performance to the broader Retail trading community and Exco as required
- Own the AUDL planning process working with all key stakeholders, feeding into the overall Retail P&L
- Ensure compliance with the rules and requirements of the FCA and any other relevant legal / regulatory / risk management frameworks, including the Consumer Duty framework
Essential Skills
- You will have experience in a Financial Services Environment with General Insurance experience an advantage.
- Strong influencing skills working up to Director level. Seen as an expert whose advice influences decision making at senior levels with regard to account strategy, approach and recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills with ability to create well-structured and consistently professional quality presentations and option papers at Director level.
- Excellent analytical skills to identify drivers of trading results and appropriate levers to influence the P&L result
- Able to understand complex issues and demonstrate excellent problem-solving skills.
- You will have the ability to work in a matrix management environment, working across organisational boundaries with great stakeholder management, communication, negotiation and influencing skills.
- Ability to take the big picture view and identify linkages between trading results and activity happening in the immediate Partnerships area and elsewhere in the Allianz retail business.
