Role Description

 

Allianz UK have a new opportunity for an Underwriting Team Manager to join our team in London on a hybrid basis.

 

As a Underwriting Team Manager your role will be to manage the team to ensure delivery of effective and timely performance. You will develop, mentor, coach and lead the team to drive high performance to meet business targets as well as support the team on our transformation journey ensuring that you successfully embed your change management skills.

Salary Information

 

Pay: Circa £50,000 per year.

 

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

About You

 

As an Underwriter Team Manager, your responsibilities will include:

 

  • Managing, motivating and developing team to achieve individual, team and departmental targets.
  • Actively planning and managing the resource and workloads to achieve set targets and service levels.
  • Producing and analysing regular management information to focus on improving.
  • Resolving escalated complaints and technical referrals from the team
  • Ensuring compliance with relevant regulatory bodies and that service is delivered in accordance with SLAs.

 

Essential Skills

 

To be successful in this role, you will have:

 

  • Knowledge of and ability to apply leadership and people management strategies to drive engagement and performance.
  • Knowledge of setting clear targets, focusing on priorities, regularly reviewing actual performance to agreed SLAs and adjusting where required.
  • Strong collaboration and communication skills in order to get things done and encourage the team to be open and willing to change.
  • Knowledge of ability to build skills and talent. Maintaining a strong technical focus through training, together with coaching team members to improve current performance.
