How can you make an impact?

 

As Country Manager-China at H6 Business Division Asia Pacific, you will be responsible for 
Business development & strategy: 

  • Ensuring financial performance of the relevant Operating Entities
  • Supporting Operating Entities in translating Group strategy into country specific  strategy and  ensuring timely execution in the Operating Entities. Facilitating the implementation of One Allianz initiatives through coordination with all Allianz entities in China, including Global Lines
  • Ensuring holistic view of Operating Entities from a financial and operational perspective both against Group requirements as well as local peers and market best practices
  • Setting OE priorities and driving strategic and planning discussions with involvement of relevant Group Centers. Ensuring timely follow-up on agreed actions
  • Driving strategic projects as the interface between Allianz SE, AZAP (Allianz Asia Pacific regional office) and Operating Entities
  • Suggesting and supporting Mergers & Acquisitions deals, bancassurance activities, strategic partnerships

Top management engagement with local stakeholders: 

  • Supporting Allianz SE CEO and H6 Board Member in engagement with various stakeholders in China, including but not limited to regulators, authorities, strategic partners, etc.

Governance & interface management: 

  • Representing the Group as shareholder and managing related shareholder matters 
  • Assisting Allianz SE representatives (incl. H6 Board Member) in participating in relevant local committees
  • Providing business view to Allianz SE committees and board decisions
  • Centrally coordinating and prioritizing strategic interactions between Allianz SE, AZAP and Operating Entities

 

What are you made of?


Ideally you meet or exceed the following requirements: 

  • Excellent academic track record with relevant studies (bachelor or master’s degree)
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Fluency in English and Mandarin is a must
  • Very strong Microsoft Office skills (PowerPoint, Excel, Teams)
  • At least 10 years’ working experience in insurance industry with good understanding of insurance financials. Solid knowledge of the Chinese insurance or asset management market is a plus
  • Meaningful operational business experience is a must, strong business acumen is required
  • Excellent organizational and prioritization skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to see the big picture and understand strategic work and ability to connect the dots
  • Pro-active and independent working style with ability to deliver high-quality results, even under time pressure
  • Very strong communication skills and confidence in daily interaction with senior management
  • Previous experience in business related functions (i.e. Sales, Operations, Claims, Underwriting, Investment Management, Asset Management, Consulting, Product Development, Finance, Market Management, Digital / Tech etc.) is a plus
  • Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solutions
