Job purpose / role

 

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Data Governance Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will assist in the development and implementation of data governance frameworks, policies, and procedures to ensure the integrity, quality, and security of our organization's data assets. A key focus will be on AI/Gen AI governance, including compliance with the EU AI Act and DORA principles.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 


Data Governance & Quality Management:


•    Support the maintenance and enhancement of data governance frameworks, including data management, data quality, and data maturity.
•    Define and monitor data quality metrics to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and completeness.
•    Collaborate with data owners and stewards to resolve data quality issues and improve data reliability.


Data Cataloging & Metadata Management:


•    Assist in the creation and maintenance of a data catalogue to ensure data assets are well-documented and accessible.
•    Manage metadata to enhance data discoverability and usability for stakeholders.


Governance & Compliance:


•    Support the rollout of AI/Gen AI governance practices, ensuring compliance with the EU AI Act and DORA principles.
•    Monitor compliance with data governance policies and regulatory requirements, identifying and mitigating risks related to data usage, access, and sharing.


Reporting & Stakeholder Collaboration:


•    Prepare regular reports on data assessment KPIs for the Data Steering Board and senior management.
•    Act as a liaison between technical and business teams to ensure data governance initiatives align with business needs.
•    Gather feedback from customers and stakeholders to improve deliverables and governance processes.


Culture & Training:


•    Promote a data-driven culture and a data product mindset within the organization.
•    Participate in training and mentoring sessions on data governance requirements and standards.
•    Conduct market research to stay informed about industry trends, technologies, and best practices.

 

Qualifications:


•    Education: University degree in a technical field such as Information Technology, Computer Science, or Data Science.
•    Experience: 3 to 5 years of experience in data and process management, with exposure to data governance, data architecture or data product management.
•    Basic understanding of the EU AI Act and DORA principles is a plus.
•    Familiarity with AI objects, data analytics tools and technologies.
•    Experience with Agile development methodologies is an advantage.
•    Strong communication and collaboration skills, with fluency in English.
•    A team player who thrives in a collaborative environment.
•    Problem-solving mindset with the ability to embrace change and identify creative yet simple solutions.
•    Growth mindset, eager to learn, and continuously looking for optimization and improvements.
