The position is part of the Geospatial Solutions & Analytics team within Allianz Re’s Nat Cat Risk Management department. In this role, you will act as a key contact and subject matter expert for geospatial Cat portfolio analytics, supporting and enhancing Allianz Group’s decision-making processes across core business domains, with a focus on portfolio steering and location-enabled pricing.

 

- Support the development, automation, technical implementation, and roll-out of groupwide tools for advanced (geospatial) portfolio analytics to enhance portfolio steering and accumulation control processes across Allianz Group.
- Work with expert from Allianz operating entities to collect, specify, and prioritize business requirements for tool development and process improvements.
- Ensure a robust testing and validation process for geospatial tools and solutions, verifying accuracy, reliability, and alignment with business requirements before deployment.
- Provide detailed reporting to Group functions and operating entities on accumulation risks and other portfolio aspects based on dedicated spatial analyses.
- Contribute to Allianz Group’s technical excellence ambution by supporting dedicate Nat Cat primary pricing project.
- Manage assigned projects and stakeholders, taking ownership of the definition, execution, and delivery phases.

 


Key responsibilities

 

- Collaborate with the product owner and technical teams to advance the development tools and automated reporting for Cat portfolio analysis, ensuring business process improvements and promoting solutions to internal clients.
- Streamline business requirements for feature development, supporting solution design through functional prototyping, proof-of-concept work, and rigorous testing.
- Conduct regular hotspot analyses to identify, monitor, and mitigate unbalanced portfolios, providing actionable insights for portfolio optimization.
- Support the Nat Cat Center of Competence (CoC) Natural Perils by delivering reports and ad hoc analytics on relevant accumulation scenarios to Allianz Group stakeholders (e.g., Group Underwriting Committee, Group Risk, Global P&C) and Operating Entity (OE) functions.
- Provide on-the-spot consultancy to users on portfolio analytics, data quality, and accumulation monitoring, ensuring effective use of tools and insights.
- Act responsible for assigned Nat Cat primary insurance pricing project in accordance to technical pricing framework.
- Drive innovation by conducting in-house R&D on new geospatial exposure data assets and analytical approaches.
- Provide training and ongoing support to business users on analytics tools and applications to enhance their capabilities and ensure effective adoption.

Experience & Key skills

 

- At least 3 years of experience in analytical roles in related field, ideally with insurance context (with broker, insurer or reinsurer)
- Proven track record of applying data-driven decision-making and understanding industry-specific processes.
- Good knowledge about (re-)insurance and probablistic catastrophe modelling
- Very good communication and presentation skills to explain complex topics to relevant stakeholders amd leading discussions with business functions and C-level
- Independent, structured and and diligent working style
- Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines
- Drive to keep up-to-date with technology and market developments
- Strong interpersonal skills and cultural awareness
- Competency of thinking in business terms and pro-active addressing of customer needs
- Team player in international team
