The Strategy and Steering team within Group Compliance plays a crucial role in shaping Allianz’s compliance framework, driving strategic initiatives, and implementing technological solutions that enhance compliance operations. This team collaborates closely with senior leadership, regulatory bodies, and internal stakeholders to ensure that Allianz remains proactive in addressing regulatory changes and industry developments.

How can you make an impact?
The Global Compliance IT officer is a strategic Group Compliance role responsible for governing, overseeing, and monitoring the implementation of Compliance technology solutions across the Group, ensuring that regulatory requirements, risk management objectives, and operational needs are consistently translated into effective, scalable, and sustainable technology solutions.
The role acts as the central Compliance Business Owner for the Group’s Compliance technology landscape, including the AML/CTF and Sanctions Golden Copy solution, and is accountable for driving the digital transformation of Compliance through modern technologies, AI-enabled capabilities, data governance, and standardized operating models.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Group-Wide Compliance Technology Strategy
- Develop and maintain the Group Compliance Technology Strategy and roadmap
- Drive harmonization, standardization, and simplification of Compliance technology capabilities
- Ensure alignment with regulatory developments, including EU AMLR, AMLA expectations, GDPR, AI Act, DORA, and local regulatory requirements
- Advise the Group CCO/MLRO on emerging technologies and strategic technology investments
2. Oversight of AML/CTF & Sanctions Global Rollout
- Act as Group Compliance for the AML/CTF & Sanctions Golden Copy solution
- Ensure the integrity and consistency of the Golden Copy design and configuration
- Govern any deviations from the approved Golden Copy standards
- Review and challenge implementation approaches adopted by Operating Entities
3. Rollout Oversight Monitor implementation progress across all AML-obliged entities
- establish implementation governance, milestones, quality gates, and escalation mechanisms
- review business requirements, design decisions, testing outcomes, and deployment readiness
- ensure compliance with Group AML/CTF Standards and regulatory obligations
- escalate implementation risks, delays, and control deficiencies to senior management
4. Oversight of Group Compliance Technology Portfolio. The role has oversight responsibility for all major Compliance technology initiatives, including:
- Regulatory change management tools
- Whistleblowing and investigations platforms
- Conflict of interest tools
- Compliance monitoring systems
- Conduct risk and customer protection platforms
- Data and reporting platforms
- Responsibilities include:
- Project governance
- Project oversight
- Risk and issue management
- Strategic prioritization
4. Compliance Data Governance and Reporting
- Define Group Compliance data standards
- Establish Compliance data ownership and accountability models
- Ensure data quality, completeness, consistency, and integrity. Drive implementation of a Compliance data certification framework
- Management Information: Develop Group-wide Compliance KPIs, KRIs, and dashboards; Enhance reporting capabilities through automation and advanced analytics. Improve data-driven decision-making across Compliance functions
- Data Architecture Promote a unified Compliance data model; Reduce data fragmentation and duplication; Improve interoperability across systems and jurisdictions
5. AI and Emerging Technology Transformation
- AI Strategy Develop and execute the Group Compliance AI Strategy; Identify opportunities to enhance Compliance effectiveness through AI
- AI Use Cases Drive adoption of AI-enabled capabilities
- AI Governance Ensure responsible and compliant AI deployment
- Establish AI governance frameworks
- Ensure compliance with the EU AI Act and internal governance standards
- Monitor model performance, explainability, and accountability
6. Technology Risk and Control Oversight
- Identify technology-related Compliance risks
- Assess implementation and operational risks
- Review control effectiveness
- Ensure segregation of duties and governance controls are maintained
- Support Internal Audit, External Audit, and regulatory reviews
7. Leadership Responsibilities
- Provide subject matter leadership for Compliance technology transformation
- Lead cross-functional teams and working groups
- Influence senior stakeholders across multiple jurisdictions
- Drive a culture of innovation, accountability, and operational excellence
- Build Compliance technology capabilities across the Group
What are you made of?
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business, Compliance, or a related field. An advanced degree such as an MBA is highly preferred
- Certifications (preferred): CFE (Certified Fraud Examiner), CAMS (Certified AML Specialist), CCEP (Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional), CRCM (Certified Regulatory Compliance Manager), PMP (Project Management Professional), or similar
Experience:
- 10–15 years of experience in:
- Compliance
- Financial Crime
- Compliance Technology
- Regulatory Technology (RegTech)
- Risk Technology
- Digital Transformation
- Strong background in information technology related to compliance tools, software implementation, and systems integration IS A MUST
- Knowledge on Actimize and NetReveal is a plus
- Deep understanding of insurance processes, regulatory compliance, and internal controls
- Expertise in project management methodologies and tools, ensuring timely and budget-friendly execution of complex IT projects
- Extensive knowledge of international compliance regulatory frameworks and industry best practices IS A MUST
- Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
- Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Fluency in English (additional languages are a plus)
- Experience in the financial industries IS A MUST
Preferred qualifications:
- Experience leading global technology transformation programmes
- Experience implementing AML/CTF and sanctions platforms
- Experience with AI-enabled solutions
- Experience operating in multinational financial institutions or insurance groups
- Experience interacting with regulators and supervisory authorities
