Allianz Re acts as Allianz Group's Internal Reinsurance Vehicle. Ceded Reinsurance is a powerful tool to steer the magnitude and composition of our global portfolio. The Group Ceded Reinsurance Team within Allianz Re aligns the Group's risk appetite, defines and implements the Group reinsurance strategy. We use reinsurance to manage exposures within the Group risk appetite and optimize the risk reward relationship. 

You will lead the Group Ceded Reinsurance team and will drive the evolution of Allianz Group’s outgoing reinsurance landscape in order to enable Allianz Re to implement the reinsurance strategy of Allianz Group. You will report to the Chief Group Reinsurance Officer. 

 


Key responsibilities


-You will manage a team of highly motivated and experienced reinsurance experts.
- You will support the Chief Group Reinsurance Officer in developing and implementing a Group-wide aligned external reinsurance strategy.
- You will establish and maintain a close link to your counterparts at Allianz Commercial as well as Allianz Trade.
- You will be steering the development and structuring of Allianz Group's reinsurance protections in order to match with the risk appetite. 
- You will be steering the review and enhancement of reinsurance protections in order to match with the group's risk appetite
or to adjust to market best practice.
- You will build, manage and foster relationships to reinsurers, investors and reinsurance brokers and act as "the face"
of Allianz Re to the external markets.
- You will manage and enhance relationships to other units within Allianz Group (underwriting and reinsurance management at operating entity level, market management and AZ SE Group Centers).
- You will negotiate prices and terms and conditions with reinsurers and global brokers.
- You will prepare the Group Ceded Reinsurance Committee including pre-alignment with all stakeholders.
- You will co-ordinate and host the annual meetings with the global reinsurance brokers of Allianz.
- You will be briefing Allianz SE Board members as well as Allianz Re Functional Board members in advance of high level meetings with top executives of Allianz' reinsurance partners.
- You will be resolving conflicts, escalating where necessary and managing resistance.

 

 

Qualification

 

- University degree in business administration, economics or similar.
- Minimum 10 years of relevant professional experience in reinsurance underwriting, client management and/or broking, ideally at least 5 years experience in outgoing reinsurance.
- Ideally experience in managing a team of reinsurance experts.
- English fluency; good knowledge of German and additional languages are a plus

- In-depth experience in the re-/insurance industry domain.   
- Proficiency in reinsurance technique incl. in-depth knowledge of reinsurance wordings.

- Strategic orientation and high level of analytical skills.
- Profound knowledge of cat models and ability to interprete and explain results.
- Consulting and diplomatic skills e.g. relationship management.
- Performance oriented, self-motivated individual with pro-active problem solving skills.
- Capability to interact with key decision makers, also on Executive Board level, and to influence them.
- Strong negotiation skills.
- Experience with data analysis and AI tools is a plus
