Purpose of the Role:
• Lead and shape the procurement and third-party risk management (TPRM) strategy to drive value creation and operational excellence across the organization.
• Ensure cost-effective, sustainable, and compliant procurement practices aligned with the company’s business objectives and regulatory requirements.
• Build and maintain strong supplier relationships to foster innovation, quality, and long-term partnerships.
• Oversee and mitigate third-party risks, ensuring robust governance and alignment with internal policies and external regulations.
• Drive digital transformation and process optimization within procurement and TPRM functions to enhance efficiency and transparency.
• Support the company’s sustainability goals by embedding ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) principles into procurement and supplier management processes.
• Act as a strategic partner to senior leadership, providing insights and recommendations to support business growth and resilience.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement a comprehensive procurement and Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) strategy, ensuring alignment with the company’s financial, operational, and sustainability goals.
• Oversee the end-to-end procurement lifecycle, including supplier selection, contract negotiation, performance management, and compliance monitoring.
• Lead the TPRM framework, ensuring all vendors and suppliers meet regulatory, operational, and reputational risk standards.
• Actively monitor risks associated with established vendor arrangements, including ensuring robust exit strategies and ongoing vendor performance monitoring in collaboration with the Business Owner.
• Manage an annual procurement budget, identifying cost-saving opportunities while maintaining quality and service standards.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams (e.g., Legal, Compliance, IT, and Operations) to ensure seamless integration of procurement and TPRM processes.
• Monitor market trends, emerging risks, and regulatory changes to adapt procurement and TPRM strategies accordingly.
• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement and TPRM team, fostering a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement.
• Design and utilize AI-driven tools and automation to improve the efficiency and accuracy of operations as well as to enhance the experience of internal stakeholders, ensuring timely delivery, transparency, and alignment with business needs.
Qualifications:
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Legal, Finance, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
• Experience: Minimum of 10 years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or third-party risk management, preferably within the insurance or financial services industry.
• Proven track record in leading procurement strategies, managing large budgets, and delivering cost efficiencies without compromising quality.
• Strong knowledge of third-party risk management frameworks, regulatory compliance, and ESG principles.
• Proficiency in procurement and risk management tools/software, as well as data analysis and reporting.
• Exceptional leadership and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence and collaborate at all organizational levels and with external partners. Experience in Change Management valued.
• Ability to operate effectively in a dynamic environment, manage competing priorities, and proactively contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong problem-solving, negotiation, and decision-making skills, with a focus on strategic thinking and operational execution.
• Familiarity with AI and automation tools for risk management, monitoring, and reporting.
• Proficiency in professional business communication in English.
