Job Purpose/Role:


This diverse role exposes you to the different facets in Allianz Direct’s ESG reporting. You are responsible for monitoring and reporting the company’s own emissions as well as ensuring the governance around ESG including internal controls and reporting structures. You will coordinate the data collection for own emissions across all Allianz Direct branches for the half year and annual reports as well as for planning. In addition, you will oversee Allianz Direct’s governance framework for ESG reporting. This includes ensuring the required internal controls and align with all data owners about the control framework and managing the governance around the data collection process for all data streams. 


Another major part of the role is to be a representative of sustainability practices and introduce sustainability measures to improve our environmental footprint. This entails the implementation of a various projects to multiple locations and guidance of respective colleagues.

Key responsibilities:

 

•    Coordinating the data collection for own emissions for the mandatory environmental performance report including collecting and preparing environmental data in line with Group guidelines for OE management sign-off,
•    preparing the required information and evidence for local and potential group audits and setting, and documenting appropriate local key controls in line with the local risk team and critically review their effectiveness regularly,
•    design and run the governance process and regularly report the overall status to the Sustainability Lead and respective board members,
•    supporting the annual planning dialogue, including preparation and internal alignment of plans provided by the Group Environment Office (GEO) as well as supporting the Non-financial Data Coordinator (NFDC) in the submission,
•    regularly monitor the development of the environmental performance and report as required to local COO, Sustainability Lead and/or the respective board member on key environmental matters,
•    develop an environmental action plan of measures, in line with the recommended/required Corporate Measures, to support the achievement of targets as well as an according budget planning. Coordinate the local environmental team and guide the implementation of the action plan as agreed with stakeholders,
•    lead operational initiatives to decrease emissions of own operations in collaboration with the local representatives
•    pro-actively facilitate the integration of environmental sustainability criteria into local business processes e.g., procurement, building management and business delivery,
•    pro-actively support measures aimed at sensitizing employees to core environmental challenges affecting Allianz,
•    support responses to environment-specific internal and external enquiries, latterly of both mandatory and voluntary nature,
•    participate in conference calls, briefings and trainings, and present to stakeholders
•    Act as single point of contact for all LEO matters related to own operations
•    regularly self-upskill on relevant environmental matters,
•    identify and evaluate new and existing local regulations, drive their implementation and ensure full compliance.

 

 

Qualifications/Key skills:

 

•    Project Management skills
•    Ability of developing and applying operational excellence incl. process structure, process efficiency and process documentation
•    IT literate including Excel at advanced level
•    Excellent analytical skills, highly numerate and comfortable with quantitative analysis, with a good attention to detail
•    Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
•    Strong team player and ability to work with others effectively
•    Strong organizational skills, ability to plan ahead and multi-task
•    Fluent in English (written and spoken)

 


Education & Experience:

 

•    Ideally 2-3 years of experience in a similar job profile, preferably in a sustainability department
•    University degree in sustainability management, business administration, management of enterprises, or comparable education and / or equivalent practical experience
•    Experience in ESG reporting
•    Advocate of Sustainability with a proven track record
•    Experience with ISO 14.001 / 50.001 would be an advantage
