We are looking for a Manager (m/f/d) Investment Planning & Controlling to join our Investment Planning and Controlling (IPC) team at the earliest possible date, based in either Munich or Stuttgart. Based in Munich, Stuttgart, Paris, New York City and Singapore, PIMCO Prime Real Estate Investment Planning and Controlling (IPC) team is part of the Finance department and in charge of managing property companies, real estate funds, JVs and intermediate holding vehicles. Core functions involve the monitoring and reporting of investment performance, the calculation of market values and the preparation of financial planning. In this position, the main focus will be on portfolio planning and controlling, investor reporting, and data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
Company and Capital Management
- Manage and analyze financial performance of Allianz’ real estate participations in funds, joint ventures and (intermediate) investment structures during the whole investment life-cycle (buy-manage-sell)
- Active role in the company management of Allianz’ real estate participations
- Be the interface and a business partner to internal and external asset- and investment management, internal client service teams and investors from Allianz Group
Financial Planning, Controlling & Reporting
- Prepare, validate, aggregate and consolidate investment plans and forecasts single investments, as well as on portfolio, holding or investor level, including liquidity and P&L planning under IFRS and Local GAAP (HGB)
- Report on financial performance of investment portfolio (Plan, quarterly forecasts, Actuals)
- Analyze plan-actual deviations and performance drivers
- Prepare ad-hoc analyses and stress tests on investment, portfolio or investor level
- Support coordination of global investment planning process, aggregate and report on planning outcomes
- Collection and validation of investment-related data for PPRE data warehouse
Business development, data and analytics
- Take initiative in the maintenance and improvement of existing controlling tools, support in the development and implementation of new controlling tools, methods and procedures
- Support projects and initiatives for implementation of a portfolio and company planning tool and enhancing data analytics capabilities
Key Requirements
- Successfully completed university degree (ideally specialized in finance, accounting, controlling, etc.)
- 3 years’ relevant experience in a comparable position, e.g. audit company, investment manager, fund manager or administrator. Experience in real estate as an asset class is a plus but not required
- Familiar with accounting principles especially with IFRS and HGB
- Good knowledge of Excel, data management and reporting interfaces
- Data analytics skills, e.g. practical experience with PowerBI, PowerQuery, SQL, Python
- Solutions-oriented and positive mind-set, self-initiative
- Spoken and written English and German skills at negotiation level are a prerequisite
