We are looking for a property risk consultant to join ARC in Germany (Munich or Cologne), ready to provide forward-thinking support and expertise both within our company and for our customers. 

  

Our Team 

Our Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) team is made up of experienced engineers from a wide range of technical and scientific disciplines. The team provides a flexible range of risk consulting services, from natural hazards, fire safety, and human and organizational risk factors to in-depth analysis of industry operations, and financial exposures, across all industry sectors and risks.  

We are looking for a property risk consultant to join Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) in Germany. 

 

The Impact You Will Have 

As part of the Allianz Commercial global ARC team, you will play an active role in risk selection alongside our Underwriters and will implement prevention plans and provide technical expertise to our clients. 

You will be responsible for providing loss control expertise, support and assistance to Allianz Commercial and its customers to assist our underwriting in risk selection and retention. You will coordinate and monitor the loss control activity of assigned accounts & loss control survey work, develop and maintain professional working relationships with clients and brokers, Underwriting, Distribution and Claims. As part of a forward-thinking team, you will maintain and enhance your technical skills and expertise in coordination with your team members, to support the business. 

This position requires strong relationship skills to develop and maintain professional working relationships both outside Allianz among customers and brokers, but also internally with our underwriters, claims professionals and risk engineers. 

 

Some of your specific responsibilities could include: 

  • Perform desktop reviews and risk assessments on loss control topics. 

  • Participate in client meetings to assist underwriters and promote the loss prevention department.  

  • Work with clients and brokers to develop customized and cost-effective loss-control programs. 

  • Co-ordinate third party surveys.  

  • Revise and validate plant maintenance plans.  

  • Generate / review reports and issue necessary recommendations. 

  • Monitor loss-control measures and keep cost expenses within the budget.  

  • Review and analyse claims reports, produce lessons learned and provide support to our claims department as requested. 

  • Monitor technical developments and regulations in the sector, in order to inform and advise on the company’s strategic direction. 

  • The ideal candidate will also have a strong interest in the consultative selling of services and enjoy working closely with clients to identify and implement tailored risk solutions 

 

What You’ll Bring to the Role 

We'd like to find an experienced Engineer who is already familiar with risk assessments and loss-control. Ideally you have expertise in Fire Prevention (eg. Sprinklers), or experience in industrial or chemical processes or in the automotive or pharmaceutical sectors. 

  • You are a self-starter able to develop and implement initiatives.

  • You are a strong team player, and communicate clearly with all parties, whether internally or externally. 

  • Fluent in German and English, you enjoy engaging with people from every cultural background. 

  • You are data-focussed, enjoy analytics and have an interest in new technologies in engineering including an appreciation of how to integrate AI into your working practices to increase productivity. 

  • Expertise in business interruption is highly desirable. 

  • You can travel on regular basis, mostly locally and occasionally in Europe or beyond.
