Senior Consolidation German Holding Accountant

About the role

The Consolidation German Holding Accountant is responsible for the accuracy, completeness, and timely delivery of statutory financial reporting for Allianz Partners German holding.

The role ensures compliance with German GAAP for statutory reporting, IFRS for Group reporting, BAFIN and regulatory requirements. 

The ultimate goal of this role is to:

- Guarantee the quality and reliability of financial statements 

- Provide statutory and regulatory compliance for german GAAP, IFRS, BAFIN and german regulatory requirements.

- Partner with auditors, tax authorities, and Group stakeholders to ensure accurate and transparent reporting.

- Drive continuous improvement in processes, tools and team capabilities while supporting accounting-related projects 

What you need

Entity Scope; Allianz Partners GMBH (AzP Holding)

• Qualified accountant with Insurance background or Financial Services.   Must be fluent German and proven working experience in German GAAP, SAP and high risk reporting.

Statutory, Tax & Regulatory (Germany) 

• Perform IFRS & German GAAP closings (monthly/quarterly/annual) and analytical review of accounts.
• Manage IFRS German GAAP bridges; reconcile differences and document booking schemes.
• Prepare German tax package; coordinate CBCR and other tax-related deliverables.
• Prepare and submit German BAFIN & regulatory reports interact with the regulator.
• Act as key contact for statutory auditors: prepare audit packs, respond to findings, follow-up recommendations.
• Support interactions with the French tax administration and internal tax controls.

Consolidation reporting:

• Execute consolidation at AzP level: scope changes, intercompany eliminations, FX translation, 
• Perform group reporting activities: Data Release, GL drill-down, period lock, controls and reconciliations.
• Maintain SOPs: data preparation, IC eliminations, close consolidation ledger; ensure robust audit trail 

Cross-functional Coordination & Stakeholder Management 

• Coordinate day-to-day activities with offshore teams.
• Partner with Controlling, Tax, Treasury, Transactional Accounting, OM team, AZ Tech, Reinsurance, Actuaries, HR and BUs (data collection & centralization).
• Manage Investment team reconciliations and two-way query resolution. 

People Leadership 

• Foster a collaborative, outcome-driven culture focused on quality and adherence to Allianz policies

Data, Tools & Continuous Improvement

• Design, optimize and maintain methods/tools Promote quality at source (SAP GRP) and maintain robust process documentation (SOPs, work instructions).
• AI readiness- Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence, machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use. 

Projects & Entity Support 

• Participate in projects.
• Support BUs with accounting, consolidation and reporting expertise as needed.
