Senior Global Financial Analyst (m/f/d)
München, DE, 81737 Unterföhring (bei München), DE, 85774
Let’s care for tomorrow.
Your ambitions. Your dreams. Your tomorrow.
Whether it’s aircraft, international business or offshore wind parks, Allianz Commercial has an extensive range of risks covered when it comes to protecting businesses.
We are looking for a Senior Global Financial Analyst to join our Strategic Controlling team in Munich, Germany.
Your Team
You will join the Strategic Controlling team within Allianz Commercial’s CFO Board Unit — a collaborative and experienced team that plays a key role in financial planning, reporting, and performance management. The team works closely with senior leadership, including the CFO, CEO, Board, and Group functions, providing financial insight and analysis that supports strategic decision-making across the organisation.
This is an opportunity to work close to strategic decision-making, gain exposure to senior leadership, and contribute to the financial performance of a global commercial insurer. You will be part of a collaborative, international team where analytical rigour, clear communication, and a genuine passion for finance are valued every day. If you are ready to take ownership of complex financial topics and help shape how Allianz Commercial understands and manages its financial performance, this could be a great next step for you.
The Impact You Will Have
As Senior Global Financial Analyst, you will be a trusted analytical partner to senior leadership at Allianz Commercial. You will own the planning, reporting, and analysis for your area of responsibility — identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities, and translating complex financial data into clear, actionable insights that enable confident decision-making. Your work will directly inform senior leadership, giving you meaningful exposure and a genuine opportunity to contribute to how Allianz Commercial understands and manages its financial performance.
Responsibilities
-
You will provide regular and ad-hoc financial analysis for your area of responsibility, identifying key drivers, risks, and opportunities, and presenting conclusions with robust financial commentary to enable informed decision-making.
-
You will manage regular reporting, forecasting, and planning processes in your area of responsibility, ensuring alignment with both customer and global requirements.
-
You will drive best practice sharing, global standard setting, and harmonisation, aligning and coordinating your area of responsibility with other CFO colleagues.
-
You will collaborate cross-functionally across the business to enhance overall business understanding and identify opportunities to improve and streamline reporting processes.
-
You will coordinate global processes, ensuring consistency and quality across financial reporting and planning activities.
-
You will participate in projects and implement initiatives as required, contributing your financial expertise to support the broader strategic agenda.
-
You will perform ad-hoc tasks as assigned, responding flexibly to the evolving needs of senior leadership and the business.
What You’ll Bring
-
A minimum of 3 to 5 years of professional experience in the financial services industry or management consultancy, ideally with property and casualty insurance or reinsurance background.
-
A Master’s degree or excellent tertiary qualification, preferably in Business Administration, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Mathematics, or a related discipline; equivalent experience will also be considered.
-
Proven experience in planning and performance management of financial statements, with the ability to conduct detailed analysis of financial results.
-
Strong finance and insurance knowledge, including an understanding of the complexities inherent in an insurance group such as consolidation processes and legal versus management views preferred.
-
Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills, with the ability to analyse data effectively and convey messages clearly; knowledge of reporting tools such as SAP is an advantage.
-
Confidence communicating financial results to a variety of stakeholders, including senior management, with clarity and impact.
-
Strong analytical thinking and numeracy, with the ability to identify patterns and root causes in complex data and rapidly distil key issues and insights.
-
Openness to using digital and AI-enabled tools to improve analysis, automate processes, and support better business outcomes.
-
Fluent English language skills; proficiency in German or another local language is a welcome advantage.
- Experience in applying artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning (ML) to improve business processes and decision-making is highly beneficial.
If you meet most of the requirements and are excited about the opportunity, we encourage you to apply. We value diverse experiences and perspectives.
