The Group Protection & Resilience team is committed to ensuring that Allianz Group is able to withstand and recover from disruptions to its business operations. For our central team at Allianz headquarters in Munich, Germany, we are seeking for a Senior Operational Resilience Expert. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in Business Continuity Management (BCM) and Threat Assessments and implementation of a comprehensive and customer-centric operational resilience lifecycle. How can you make an impact?

 

You will:

  • Develop and implement the framework, procedures and strategies that enhance the organization's ability to withstand and recover from operational disruptions in collaboration with various teams within the organization, including risk assessments, identification of critical processes and systems, as well as designing and implementing resilience plans and strategies.
  • Develop and implement an end-to-end global operating model for the operational resilience lifecycle and build-up of a comprehensive tooling support by leveraging the integration and extension of existing technical solutions, alignment of the data models of IT applications, design of automized/AI-supported procedures and closing of gaps.    
  • Manage projects from initiation till final delivery and effective implementation, aiming for operational execution of threat mitigations and change of IT-tools, supporting the integrated operational resilience lifecycle.
  • Monitor the organization's operational resilience and ensure that it remains effective, including regular assessments, testing and exercising resilience plans, as well as identifying and addressing any weaknesses or gaps. Establish the corresponding risk and control system and its connect to the overarching Non-Financial Risk System (NFRM) of the second Line of Defense.
  • Act as the centre of excellence for an integrated operational resilience lifecycle and with particular ownership of the domains Business Continuity Management (BCM) domain and Operational Threat Oversight. By doing this it is crucial to collaborate with various stakeholders and participate in incident and crisis responses as well as related exercises. 
  • Conduct threat assessments to identify potential risks for Allianz operations, assets and personnel. Based on your assessment, you will develop strategies to manage and mitigate the identified risks.  This includes the steering of quarterly threat campaigns in local Allianz entities to collect local threat heatmaps.
  • Co-ordinate the global expert community and tooling user groups with calls, ad-hoc information as well as best-practice sharing. Create and conduct trainings and education for Allianz managers and employees worldwide by leveraging multiple media formats. 
  • Intermediate for information exchange across related communities as well as internal and external stakeholders. This includes regular updates to the senior management, response to inquiries from auditors and regulators as well as exchange with industry forums. 
  • Monitor of latest regulatory changes, technological developments and best-practice sharing with other companies and industries.        

 

 

What are you made of?

  • Master's degree or a comparable education in business administration, information technology, finance, general management, risk management or a related field
  • 10+ years of practical professional experience in an international setting, including 5+ years in operational resilience, business continuity, threat management, or a related field 
  • Successful completion of end-to-end managed projects
  • A true team player with the ability to steer activities inclusively and partner with peers, stakeholders and subject matter experts
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with strong interpersonal skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal and experience in presenting and facilitating trainings in front of large audiences
  • Strong capability to be self-organized and do professional time management
  • Strong analytical and conceptual skills and with the ability to think quickly and make fast decisions
  • Ability to work self-responsibly and autonomously, even under permanent demand
  • Reliable, highly committed, precise working, and independent thinking
  • Willingness to participate in the on-call availability and incident as well as crisis co-ordination, also beyond the usual working hours (i.e. team effort for Saturday monitoring rotation).        
  • Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
  • Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
