We are looking for a Senior Risk Consultant – Property (m/f/d) to join our Allianz Risk Consulting team in Munich, Cologne, or Frankfurt. In this role, you will use your technical expertise to help clients better understand property risks, strengthen resilience, and protect what matters most to their business.
Your Team
You will be part of the Allianz Risk Consulting (ARC) Property Large Corp team for Germany and Switzerland — a collaborative group of engineers and consultants who combine technical expertise with practical client advice. Together, the team supports Allianz Commercial’s clients in identifying property risks, improving loss prevention, and strengthening business continuity.
You will work closely with colleagues in Underwriting, Market Management, Claims, Distribution, as well as with clients and brokers. The environment is international, expert-led, and supportive — with space to share knowledge, learn from others, and contribute your own perspective.
The Impact You Will Have
As Senior Risk Consultant – Property, you will play an important role in helping clients make informed decisions about their property risks. You will assess sites and operations, translate technical findings into clear recommendations, and support practical loss control measures. Your work will help clients protect their people, assets, and operations, while also supporting underwriting decisions and strengthening Allianz Commercial’s position as a trusted risk consulting partner in Germany and Switzerland.
What You Will Do
- Carry out desktop reviews and risk assessments, both before and after losses, to evaluate property exposures and controls for assigned accounts.
- Partner with Underwriting, Claims, clients, and brokers to design practical loss control programmes tailored to client needs.
- Conduct client site surveys, collect relevant data, identify hazards, discuss findings, and prepare clear loss control reports and recommendations.
- Deliver high-quality reports on time, ensuring your recommendations are accurate, actionable, and easy to understand.
- Coordinate third-party providers where needed, including briefing them, monitoring quality, and ensuring agreed budgets and controls are in place.
- Support internal and client projects, including technical training and knowledge-sharing sessions.
- Build trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, clients, and brokers, acting as a reliable contact for property risk consulting topics.
- Keep developing your technical expertise in property risk, new technologies, process efficiency, and AI-enabled ways of working.
What You’ll Bring
- Relevant engineering or technical experience, ideally as a chemical, electrical, or mechanical engineer, with exposure to corporate insurance, risk consulting, or a similar technical advisory environment.
- Strong knowledge of property risk, loss control, and risk improvement measures, together with curiosity to keep learning about new technologies and industry developments.
- Experience conducting risk assessments, loss control surveys, and developing practical recommendations for corporate clients.
- Knowledge of business sectors relevant to property risk; understanding of business interruption exposures would be an advantage.
- Clear communication skills, with the ability to explain technical topics in a way that is understandable and useful for different audiences.
- Strong organisational and interpersonal skills, with the ability to manage priorities and build trusted relationships.
- A client-focused mindset and interest in developing solutions that create value for both clients and Allianz Commercial.
- Interest in using data, automation, and AI-driven insights to improve quality, efficiency, and decision-making.
- The ideal candidate will also have a strong interest in the consultative selling of services and enjoy working closely with clients to identify and implement tailored risk solutions.
- Expertise in business interruption is highly desirable.
- Fluent German and English skills are essential for this role.
If your experience does not match every point above, but you believe you could bring valuable expertise and perspective to this role, we would still like to hear from you.
