Who will you join?

Group Strategy and Impact (GSI) is responsible for the development of Allianz Group's strategy and its activation across the organization including guidance for active management of our global business portfolio. As such, GSI identifies and drives key strategic topics, defines strategic targets, and prepares strategy discussions and decisions at Board level. The team provides objectives and priorities for group-wide strategic projects, influences the global business portfolio and identifies potential non-organic actions. Based on strategic insights and periodic, high quality benchmarking, GSI drives for maximum value creation across our businesses.

You will be working in a cross-functional team and in close collaboration with a broad set of colleagues from relevant departments at head office, the business divisions, Operating Entities (OEs).

The position is based in Munich. 

How can you make an impact?

You will:

• Support the preparation of Allianz’s Group Strategy updates by conducting research on insurance and asset management industry trends, peer group performance as well as consumer and technology trends 
• Shape content and structure of the annual Strategic Dialogues (SD) with Allianz subsidiaries, drive the group-wide Strategic Dialogue process and participate in top management discussions driving for maximum value creation
• Ensure translation of AZ Group Strategy into local market strategies; initiate and run strategic projects for the group and senior management; reflect GSI in strategic portfolio reviews and drive implications for inorganic actions 
• Act as strategy expert counterpart for the Life and Asset Management business of Allianz Group, contribute to the mid-term strategy in this segment
• Further develop Allianz's strategic insights and benchmarking for top management with focus on Life and Asset Management

What are you made of?

Minimum Qualifications

• Excellent university degree in business, corporate finance, economics or related fields with spike in quantitative analytics 
• 7+ years of experience in corporate strategy, top-tier management consulting, corporate development/M&A, growth strategy / business development, or a combination thereof, with significant exposure to financial services
• Experience in insurance (P/C, Life, Health) and/or asset management business models, with deep expertise of market management and sales/distribution strategies across markets, segments and understanding of regulatory, capital and performance frameworks 
• Previous involvement in designing and running strategy processes in a complex, multinational organization including portfolio assessments and capital allocation recommendations
• Expert skills in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel and PowerPoint; application of AI tools for research / strategy development

Preferred Qualifications

• Strategic mindset combined with very strong quantitative skills 
• Very strong written and oral communication skills, including ability to bring across complex matters and develop compelling narratives 
• Ability to work independently and perform under time pressure with demonstrated drive for excellence 
• Open mindset and team player with the ability to drive projects/programs in cross-functional, international teams 
• Efficient and results/impact-oriented working style, and positive, pragmatic attitude         
• Fluent in English (written and spoken), second language a plus 
• Previous experience in insurance or asset management business functions, consulting, digital / tech is a plus
• Experience applying ChatGPT, Generative AI, and Ethical AI solution
