About the role

We are looking for a Senior Strategy Manager to support the operationalisation of Allianz Direct’s strategic agenda, with AI-first and customer-centricity as guiding principles. Reporting to the Chief Partnerships & Strategy Officer (CPSO), you will drive and coordinate strategic initiatives alongside the senior leadership team, combining sharp strategic thinking, structured analysis and strong project management to take initiatives from concept through to execution.

You will lead market and competitive analysis, performance analysis, financial modelling and business case development — leveraging AI tools to work efficiently and comprehensively — to derive strategic options and synthesise compelling narratives for C-level and Board-level decision-making. You will work on a broad portfolio of strategic topics, supporting the senior leadership team in shaping and delivering the priorities that will define Allianz Direct’s next chapter. As a trusted sparring partner to the CPSO and senior leadership team, you will help shape the future direction of Allianz Direct.

Key responsibilities

•    Support the operationalisation of Allianz Direct’s strategic agenda, translating long-term ambitions into short and mid-term priorities.
•    Lead market and competitive analysis, internal performance analysis, scenario modelling and business case development — leveraging AI tools throughout the workflow — to derive options and inform top-management decisions.
•    Synthesise complex inputs into compelling narratives and decision papers for C-level and Board-level audiences.
•    Lead complex, cross-functional strategic projects end-to-end, ensuring on-time, on-scope and on-quality delivery.
•    Translate agreed strategic initiatives into roadmaps, KPIs and execution plans, and kick-start implementation including PMO set-up where needed.
•    Manage intra-Group and external relationships and interfaces on behalf of the CPSO, ensuring effective communication and collaboration across stakeholders.
•    Act as a trusted sparring partner to the CPSO and senior leadership team, providing insights and recommendations grounded in rigorous analysis and project execution.

What you bring

Experience & education

•    University degree in business administration, economics, engineering, natural sciences, or a related field; an advanced degree (e.g. MBA) is a plus.
•    5–8 years of professional experience in top-tier management consulting, corporate strategy, corporate development, or M&A — ideally with exposure to financial services, insurance or digital/tech businesses.
•    Track record of independently leading complex, cross-functional strategic projects with senior stakeholders.
Skills & capabilities
•    Outstanding analytical and conceptual thinking; able to structure ambiguous problems, build robust quantitative analysis and translate insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
•    Strong project management skills, including planning, execution, governance and monitoring of complex, multi-stakeholder initiatives.
•    Excellent communication and storytelling skills; confident producing high-quality materials and presenting to senior leadership.
•    Strong proficiency in PowerPoint and Excel; experienced in using AI tools across the full spectrum of strategy work — from research and analysis through to delivery.
•    Proven stakeholder management and influencing skills, including the ability to challenge senior leaders constructively.
•    Proactive, hands-on and pragmatic working style; comfortable operating with autonomy in a fast-paced, international environment.
Languages
•    Fluent in English (written and spoken); German and additional European languages are a plus.

What we offer

•    A high-impact role at the heart of Allianz Direct’s strategic agenda, with direct exposure to the Executive Leadership Team and Allianz Group.
•    A unique opportunity to shape a pan-European direct insurer combining the scale of Allianz with the agility of a digital challenger.
•    A diverse, international and ambitious team with a strong learning and feedback culture.
•    Flexible hybrid working, attractive compensation, and the comprehensive benefits of one of the world’s leading insurance and asset management groups.
•    Tailored development opportunities, including access to Allianz’s global learning programmes and internal mobility.

Location: Milan, Madrid, Munich, Rotterdam or Paris (location open) / Hybrid
