Job Purpose/Role: 

 

Position Overview:


We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive Senior Specialist – Finance to join our team at AZ Direct Spain. The ideal candidate will bring expertise in IFRS 17 accounting, financial analysis, planning and budgeting, expense control, and reporting. Proficiency in SAP, Power BI, and financial forecasting is essential. The role requires a self-driven, autonomous professional with excellent English communication skills, a solid background in the insurance industry, and the ability to deliver impactful financial insights and presentations.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

Financial Analysis:


•    Conduct detailed analyses of financial statements and operational results for the Non-Life business.
•    Identify, analyze, and report deviations from budgets and forecasts, explaining their causes and evolution.
•    Provide actionable insights to support decision-making and improve financial performance.


IFRS 17 Accounting:
•    Ensure compliance with IFRS 17 standards in financial reporting and accounting processes.
•    Analyze and interpret complex financial data in line with IFRS 17 requirements.


Planning and Budgeting:
•    Collaborate in the preparation of the annual budget and medium- to long-term financial plans.
•    Monitor budget adherence and propose corrective measures when necessary.
•    Support the development of financial strategies to align with business objectives.


Expense Control:
•    Monitor and manage expenses to ensure alignment with budgets and financial targets.
•    Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement measures to optimize spending.
•    Provide regular expense reports and analysis to support decision-making.


Reporting and Presentations:
•    Prepare and present periodic financial reports to senior management and other relevant stakeholders.
•    Develop executive presentations summarizing financial performance and future projections.
•    Ensure clarity, accuracy, and relevance of financial information shared with stakeholders.


Data Analysis and Power BI:
•    Leverage Power BI to create interactive dashboards and visualizations for financial reporting and decision-making.
•    Perform advanced data analysis to identify trends, insights, and opportunities for process improvements.
•    Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all reporting platforms.


Insurance Industry Expertise:
•    Apply in-depth knowledge of insurance operations and financial practices to support business objectives. Including business case preparation for projects approvals
•    Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align financial strategies with business goals.

 

Qualifications and Skills:


Education:


•    Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.


Experience:


•    Minimum 5 years of experience in a finance role, preferably within the insurance industry.
•    Proven expertise in IFRS 17 accounting standards.

 


Technical Skills:


•    Advanced proficiency in SAP (mandatory).
•    Proficiency in Power BI for data visualization and reporting (mandatory).
•    Strong skills in financial forecasting, budgeting, expense control, and data analysis.
•    Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel and PowerPoint.


Language Skills:


•    Fluency in English (mandatory).
•    Spanish language skills are a plus.


Soft Skills:


•    Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
•    Strong communication and presentation skills.
•    Highly proactive, self-motivated, and capable of working autonomously.
