We are seeking an ambitious PMO to join our dynamic team within a leading insurance company. The ideal candidate will have a strong background of large team/ system operations and experience in structuring the organizational environment in which everyone else conducts their delivery.
The wider team is focused on many technology initiatives using agile methodologies and that are broken down in to many teams that have unique characteristics but also require a common platform and standards for documentation, progress tracking and record keeping.
The ideal candidate will be extremely structured and methodical with possess political acumen and emotional intelligence to foster effective communication and coalition building at all organizational levels.
Bringing and sustaining standards will require both self-driven innovation and pragmatic compromise in implementation with considerable administrative overhead to bring and sustain order into our existing network of filing and documentation.
Key responsibilities
- Documentation and Reporting: Manage comprehensive documentation, including project plans, status reports, and executive summaries, to support informed decision-making
- Design and implement a consistent document management approach covering both Sharepoint and Confluence including merging multiple existing repositories
- Process, trouble shoot and communicate regular team cost calculations in Excel (until an alternative can be provided) pulling information from timesheets and Jira
- Develop high-quality top management presentations, briefings, reports, reviews, and analyses related to the execution of high-profile strategic projects and programs.
- Monitor project timelines, milestones, and deliverables, ensuring that initiatives remain on track and within scope. Includes using Jira to track project progress, manage tasks, and facilitate communication among team members.
- Coordinate across workstreams to administrate collective team forums and communication events Utilize Jira to track project progress, manage tasks, and facilitate communication among team members.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, marketing, and operations, to ensure seamless integration of digital solutions.
- Operational and Team Support: Assist in driving the Business Transformation & Steering "ways of working," helping to coordinate daily operations, internal/external demonstrations, and the preparation of materials for team offsites. This role is key to promoting operational efficiency and fostering a collaborative team environment, supporting the transformation team in achieving its strategic objectives.
- Financial tracking and feedback for internal budgets
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing updates and insights into project status and achievements.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation within the organization.
What you bring

Degree level qualification in Business, IT, Computer Science, or a related field.

Proven experience as a Digital Project Manager in a large organization, preferably within the insurance or financial sectors.

Strong understanding of agile methodologies and experience in implementing them in project management.

Proficiency in using Jira for project tracking and management.

Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills.

Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Certification in project management (e.g., PMP, PMI-ACP, CSM) is a plus.
