About the role

Within the Global Digital Growth department, and under the Head of Digital Marketing, the Head of Online Acquisition & Retention is responsible for leading the internal execution of the global digital marketing strategy across all online acquisition and retention channels — including paid and organic search, content marketing, programmatic media, CRM/email, audio, CTV, and emerging digital channels.

This role directly manages a team of channel specialists across three regions (Americas, Europe, APAC) and serves as the single point of accountability for ensuring the Global Operating Model is executed locally through channel owners.

This role owns the internal channel experts who ensure strategy is translated into consistent, high-quality execution across all markets and works closely with Regional Digital Marketing Managers (oversees external agencies), creative teams, analytics, and product teams to drive cross-market consistency, performance standards, and capability development.

Reports directly to the Head of Digital Marketing.

Key Responsibilities

Global Channel Execution Leadership

  • Lead and inspire a team of seven channel specialists across three regions (Americas, Europe, APAC), fostering a high-performance, data-driven culture
  • Ensure the Global Operating Model is being executed correctly in each channel and market through direct management of channel owners
  • Set global execution standards, performance benchmarks, and best practices across all online acquisition and retention channels
  • Drive cross-market consistency in channel execution while allowing for local market nuances, regulatory requirements, and cultural considerations

Strategy Execution & Optimization

  • Translate the global digital marketing strategy into channel-level execution plans, ensuring alignment across all 20 markets
  • Implement a continuous test-and-learn framework to evolve channel performance and accelerate growth globally
  • Conduct quarterly deep-dive performance reviews by channel and region, presenting strategic recommendations to the Global Head of Digital Marketing and regional stakeholders
  • Identify underperforming channels or markets and develop corrective action plans in partnership with channel owners

Cross-Functional & Regional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Regional Digital Marketing Managers (who manage external agencies) to ensure internal execution aligns with agency-delivered work
  • Collaborate with creative teams to ensure channel owners have the assets, messaging, and localization needed for execution
  • Partner with product, data, analytics, and eCommerce teams to enhance customer journey performance and conversion outcomes
  • Serve as the internal counterpart to the external agency governance structure — ensuring both sides enforce the same Global Operating Model

Team Management & Development

  • Provide clear goals, ongoing coaching, and professional development to seven direct reports across multiple countries and time zones
  • Build a strong talent pipeline by identifying upskilling opportunities, fostering collaboration, and championing career growth
  • Create clear career pathing for channel specialists (Specialist → Senior Specialist → Head of Acquistion & Retention)
  • Conduct performance reviews, set development plans, and manage team capacity across regions

Additional Responsibilities

  • Conduct competitive assessments and market benchmarking to identify trends and areas of opportunity across channels
  • Lead or contribute to regional & global digital transformation initiatives as assigned
  • Support the evolution toward a global/regional agency model by ensuring internal channel expertise is strong enough to hold agencies accountable
  • AI Readiness : Work effectively in an environment shaped by artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning, data, analytics and cloud-based tools, using insights responsibly with our standards of data governance, security and ethical use.

What you will Bring

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Advertising, Communications, or related field; Master's degree a plus
  • 7+ years of progressive digital marketing experience, with at least 7 years in leadership roles overseeing multi-country teams
  • Demonstrated success managing performance-driven acquisition and retention programs across diverse digital channels
  • Experience managing teams of at least 5-8 direct reports with responsibility for performance, coaching, and development
  • Experience in insurance, financial services, or other regulated industries strongly preferred
  • Deep expertise in digital media, analytics, attribution, and optimization across paid search, programmatic, social, SEO, email, and emerging channels
  • Strong organizational, project management, and prioritization skills
  • Metrics-driven mindset balanced with creative problem-solving skills
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities across global and regional teams
  • Entrepreneurial, proactive, and passionate about digital innovation and emerging technologies
  • Experience working across multiple time zones and managing geographically distributed teams
