At Allianz Partners, we are looking for an Underwriting & Actuarial Data Intern to join our team and support the Head of Underwriting Excellence for the Roadside Assistance line of business. This internship is ideal for students interested in data analysis, technical underwriting, and actuarial processes within the insurance industry.

You will work on real projects that transform data into actionable insights, contributing to strategic decision-making in a global, dynamic, and innovation-driven environment.

 

 

What You Will Do

 

 

Analysis & Reporting

 

  • Prepare portfolio performance analyses, including Combined Ratio evolution, retention trends, and premium growth tracking.
  • Extract, validate, and synthesize data from multiple sources to create clear reports and visualizations for leadership meetings.

 

Dashboard & Metrics Management

 

  • Maintain and enhance underwriting dashboards, ensuring accuracy, consistency, and timely updates of key indicators.
  • Investigate data discrepancies and collaborate with internal teams to resolve them.

 

Ad-hoc Analytical Projects

 

  • Support pricing reviews, competitor benchmarking, and market research.
  • Gather external information, structure insights, and prepare presentation materials.

 

Cross-functional Collaboration

 

  • Work closely with actuarial, claims, and finance teams to ensure methodological alignment across reporting.
  • Act as a point of contact for underwriting-related questions from other departments.

 

Innovation & Process Improvement

 

  • Identify opportunities to enhance processes, automate repetitive tasks, and streamline workflows.
  • Apply analytical tools and AI-based solutions to improve operational efficiency.

 

 

What You Bring

 

 

  • Business, Engineering, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science Degreed or another quantitative field.
  • Strong proficiency in Excel and a clear interest in developing advanced analytical skills, along with familiarity—or willingness to learn—tools such as SQL, Python, or BI platforms (Power BI, Tableau). Curiosity for AI tools and data‑driven technologies is highly valued.
  • You bring an analytical mindset, strong attention to detail, and a good understanding of financial and actuarial concepts.
  • You communicate insights clearly thanks to strong communication and presentation skills, and you thrive in dynamic environments due to your proactive attitude, focus on quality, and continuous process improvement.
  • Advanced English and fluency in the local language are required, and developing skills in project coordination are considered an asset.
