Duties and Responsibilities
- Lead a team of actuarial analysts/senior actuarial analysts
- Assist the management in business development activities
- Act as a point of contact for the stakeholders of the Allianz operating entities assigned
- Contribute to the growth of actuarial function at other Allianz services locations
- Provide pricing recommendations and insights to internal stakeholders, reflecting competitive and commercial considerations to achieve strategic objectives.
- Develop and implement best practice pricing models, including claims, quote conversion, customer retention and pricing scenarios.
- Take ownership of and continual refinement of the rating and pricing models, by utilising advanced analytics techniques, extensive data and relevant industry leading tools/technologies.
- Monitor the performance of implemented initiatives to support continuous refinement of pricing models and pricing strategy.
- Contribute to the development of product strategy and support its implementation.
- Identify opportunities to drive innovation and make improvements in processes, products and services.
- Implement the pricing governance framework by performing and continually improving controls and governance around pricing processes.
- Analyzing, optimizing and creating financial models that form the basis of insurance products
- Providing thorough analyses of complex data
- Implement, maintain and enhance pricing tools on the Radar platform, contribute to the design of Radar software enhancements
- Work together with pricing and underwriting teams to understand and ensure accurate delivery of their requirements
- Ensure the quality of pricing tool updates including peer reviewing and comprehensive testing
- Collaborate effectively with IT on the integration of the pricing tools within IT landscape
- Provide support on the various modeling initiatives and ensure proper documentation is in place
- Contribute to the process improvement initiatives
Qualification, Experience and Skills
- Master’s degree in Actuarial Science/Statistics/Mathematics/B.Tech with good academic background
- Student member of a recognized Actuarial Institute such as IFoA, IAI, SOA etc. and have cleared at least 8 actuarial exams, preferably with Actuarial Associateship qualification
- Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in P&C insurance domain, specialized in pricing
- Team management experience of managing a small/medium team
- Delivery of Radar solutions for multiple insurance products/lines
- Proficient in Emblem, Radar Base, knowledge in Radar’s reporting functionality preferred and experience in deploying Radar models to a Radar Live environment constitutes an advantage
- Partnering mentality with the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, management and the business areas
- Strong programming skills: Excel, VBA, SAS, Python
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with ability to interact with customers from different geographical areas
- Good with Microsoft Office tools such as Excel, Access, Word, PowerPoint
- Possesses sound knowledge of SQL and can work with databases
- Excellent analytical skills with attention to details
- Prior experience in managing small to medium sized teams
