Role Description

 

We have an exciting opportunity for a Commercial Data Analyst to play a pivotal role in transforming engineering inspection and statutory compliance data into clear, actionable Management Information. Drawing from multiple legacy systems, you’ll ensure data quality and insight-driven reporting that supports informed decision-making across the business.

 

In this role, you’ll work closely with Sales and Customer Acquisition teams to enable commercial growth, creating structured dashboards and insights that improve targeting, qualification and conversion at the top of the sales funnel. Experience bringing together complex data sets into intuitive, visual MI will be highly beneficial.

 

You’ll also be a key partner to Sales Development Representatives, using inspection, asset and customer data to shape outbound sales opportunities across both Brokered and Direct channels, ensuring sales activity is underpinned by accurate, insight-led intelligence.

 

This role is based in our Guildford Office. This is a hybrid working role with the expectation of you attending the office a minimum of 2 days per week.

 

Salary Information

 

Pay: Circa £35,000 per year

 

Pay is based on relevant experience, skills for the role, and location. Salary is only one part of our total reward package.

 

About You

 

  • Collate, cleanse and quality assure engineering inspection, statutory compliance, asset and customer data from multiple systems to ensure accuracy and reliability.
  • Analyse inspection and compliance data to identify commercial opportunities, including inspection cycles, unmet requirements, service gaps and cross-sell or upsell potential.
  • Develop high-quality Management Information, dashboards and reporting outputs that present complex data clearly for senior and commercial stakeholders.
  • Translate data analysis into actionable insight, clearly articulating trends, risks and opportunities to support decision-making and growth initiatives.
  • Act as a data Subject Matter Expert, providing SDR-ready intelligence such as account summaries, inspection history and service relevance to support outbound targeting and qualification.
  • Work collaboratively with SDRs, Sales, Marketing and Product teams to support outbound campaigns, pipeline visibility and performance review.
  • Support continuous improvement of data assets, reporting tools and CRM integrations, including business acceptance testing where required. 

 

Essential Skills

 

  • Excellent understanding of data governance and legislation relating to the use, storage and protection of customer and asset data.
  • Practical application of statistical principles and business intelligence techniques to support commercial insight.
  • Proven ability to develop data into clear, concise and visually effective Management Information suitable for senior management.
  • Ability to convert complex datasets into practical actions by clearly linking insight to commercial and operational decisions.
  • Experience or working knowledge of BI and reporting tools aligned to CRM and sales environments.

 

Desirable Skills

 

  • Experience using Python is desirable but not essential
  • Experience working with data in an engineering, inspection, compliance, insurance or regulated services environment is advantageous.
  • Experience supporting outbound sales, lead generation, customer segmentation or SDR activity through data insight is desirable.
  • Understanding of Responsible AI principles.
