DISPUTE RESOLUTION SPECIALIST – PERSONAL INJURY – MELBOURNE, VIC

About the role 

  • To conduct the review of disputes to ensure the decision is technically sound.
  • Effectively provide a strategy on how to best progress the dispute.
  • Proactively engage with employers, the Workplace Injury Commission (WIC) and employee representatives to facilitate the early resolution of disputes.
  • Formally represent Allianz at conciliation conferences in accordance with WorkSafe and AAL policies and procedures.
  • Support the Targeted Dispute Resolution (TDR) Program as required
  • Ensure dispute resolution practices are in accordance with the requirements of Allianz/WorkSafe licence agreement.
  • Ensure systems are updated with initial reviews, pre-conciliation reviews and outcomes within set timeframes.
  • Provide superior customer service to all parties.
  • Identify skill gaps in technical and legal matters and provide input on training needs in conjunction with the team manager so learnings can be shared with claim teams.
  • Attend the monthly Technical & Legal Management Meeting to ensure appropriate feedback is provided to improve capability and the sustainability of notices.

About you 

  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience as a Technical Manager, Eligibility Officer, or Senior Case Manager
  • Experience in the workers compensation scheme, in particular Case Management, Eligibility and/or Technical Management
  • A Tertiary qualification in Law (desirable but not essential)
  • Strong working knowledge of the Workplace Injury Rehabilitation and Compensation Act 2013 and the WorkCover scheme
  • Strong organisational, stakeholder management, interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and time management skills
  • A passion for leveraging emerging technologies to stay ahead in a rapidly evolving digital landscape
